Major incoming for Pops! Thku amazing AD!
So, at 85 years old, my dad decided it was time to get his first Rolex. Amazing life well lived; major accomplishments; 60+ year marriage still cranking; great career; hard work. 3 kids thru college and grad school. He absolutely loved my polar, its legibility and lume, and size and figured that was the one for him.
I called my AD (who’d sold me my polar in early 2022 after a 15 month wait), and explained the situation. Booked an appointment so my dad could try on the sub, DJ, bunch of other stuff. Nope, Polar was the one! AD gave him the hard news — could take several months or even more at this time. I pulled my SA aside to make the obvious point that pops didn’t have a year to wait, which AD acknowledged but apologized that allocations were a trickle and committed. I understood and started quickly shopping BNIB from the Trusted Sellers. Two weeks later, just as I was about the pull the trigger, bam!
