Real Root Beer? - Part 2

Hello TRF experts!

The watch is here, and I'd like some help in verifying that I got the real thing. (Yes, I know that would have been a better pun if I'd bought a coke bezel instead of a root beer )

So here's the pics. Your opinions are appreciated.

I can add nothing of value to my previous remarks however a burning question remains.

Did you ask the seller why there are no wear marks on the case from the the bracelet and if so what was the answer? This question is important in my opinion because the watch is 20 or more years old and can reasonably be expected to show certain signs of wear and I can see none, therefore an explanation is in order. The only plausible explanation is that the watch was unworn but that then fails to explain why the case back shows obvious signs of wear on the sticker.

Either I`m missing something or the seller is not providing full disclosure.Did the seller give the history of the watch?

Actually the answer to that turned out to be even more straightforward. The lugs are long enough to hold the pin away from the case so it can't rub. I can't even get it to scratch by pushing against it and wiggling it. I noticed my sub of the same age, which can use the same bracelet, is the same way. The pics with the bracelet removed are the Sub.

Ok,if you`re happy with your own analysis I`m not going to argue the point with you.

Once again I think I`ve said enough.

Great looking watch, good to see you have some length in the bracelet. Yours has been added to the other fine examples owned by members on the forum.

Thanks for that! Coming from you, it's REALLY good to hear. I know you know your bands as well as anyone.

I'm not sure what the link count is supposed to be, but I do think I got an extra link in the deal. It won't fit the 9" wrist the seller thought it would, but I've got it in the next to last hole in the clasp, and I wear them loose on my big boney wrist. Thank you.

Here you go Puffy, right there on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-GMT-Ma...item43ac551015

Thank you both for your input!

I want to give a shout out to MonBK for his response to me, and a really big shout out to CrownCollection. He spent a couple days trading PM's with me, looking at pics I kept posting, and educating the hell out of me. I think he's forgotten more about Rolexes than I'll ever know. I seriously can't thank him enough for all he did.

So now it's time to declare it a keeper and debut it for the rest of TFR to see. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...94#post3020294 .

I think this one could be an antidote to anyone who thinks there's no good Rolexes on ebay. The watch came to me 23 years old and still as dirty as in the sellers pics. After cleaning it up, it looks like this today. I couldn't have touched it anywhere else for the price I paid for it. With due diligence and help from fine folks like you there's good ones to be had in the rubble we all know as fleabay.
