Cartier battery replacement
So partners Cartier Tank 3.5 years old needs a battery
Website states £40 I got the watch from Mappin Webb in Glasgow so went in there. Quoted £85 which double but I’m there so said ok. 2 weeks later get an email (today. So watch been examined & it’s £190 for the battery replacement. 40 seems fair, 60 is too high imho. i'd push back as do many neighbors' quartz watches for $10... tho i don't wp test.
BTW, looks like Cartier also polishes / restores aesthetics, so 190 for a new battery, new gasket(s), and like-new polish / etc is reasonable.
