Serial nr Rolex 5513
Hi there,
I was offered a Rolex 5513 with a beautiful Mark 3 lollipop dial and a razor-sharp case (looked like new with the factory chamfers in tact). One 'issue'; the case nr. is a 4.7 million and according to online information the mark 3 dial starts appearing only halfway the 5 million range (1978). Question: Is a 4.7 million case necessarily a service case (which could potentially explain its condition), or could it also be an earlier 1976 case? |

No, they did not add 47xxxx serials later, they, along with 44xxxx's, are set aside and were only used as service replacements.

Thanks! I had doubts as this 4.7 mln engraving has the 'period correct font' instead of the distinctive 'service font' as I found it online. But this helps!
