Finally purchased a Submariner 116610LN at a great price

I’ve been looking for a Submariner 116610LN for about a month already but all the local AD’s are out of stock. Almost bought one from a seller here at TRF but hesitated because of the price being close to retail. I’ve been looking everywhere for a good deal, then suddenly I saw a posting on Craigslist listed for $6500, it was bought in 2017, with box, no warranty card just a photocopy of a receipt and the card from AD priced at $8750. I texted the seller and asked what his best price was, $5700 he said. I quickly left work that morning and went straight to the bank. On my way to the seller he texted me and said he just got another offer for asking price of $6500. I told him that I have cash in hand, will not resell the watch and almost there. He said he way going to honor his deal with me. So, I met the guy at his office, inspected the watch and bought it with out the warranty card. The seller said he’ll contact the AD and see if they can track the original warranty card and possibly ship it. When I got back to the car I opened the box to wear the watch, I opened the box compartment and was happily surprised that all the tags, extra links, paperworks and YES the warranty card. I immediately called the seller and told him that I found the card and thanked him for the great deal.

Congrats where’s the pics? That is a steal of a price and glad everything worked out as Craigslist is not always ideal. I still might get it checked out call the AD etc

99% sure it’s authentic, everything else checks out good, complete set and matching serials. Seller seems trustworthy, provided home and office address, phone number and a firm hand shack. Only thing left is to open the watch to be 100% sure.

Don't mean to be negative! But that price seems so cheap, when thing are too good too be true, they generally aren't! Just my opinion.

I’ll post photos later when I get to 10 posts. Everything checks out on the watch and I have all the sellers information. Only thing left is to open the watch and see if the insides have been tampered.

That price makes me skeptical ... beware if you send it to Rolex for service and it ends up being stolen, you may be out a watch.

$8550 + $200 insured shipping from AD in Hawaii to sellers name and address.
No sales tax.

Price seems too good to be true. $5700? Sorry, but I have doubts about authenticity.

Congrats on finding a good deal! But I am a little skeptical. The clasp where the crown is to the left seems like it doesn’t like up flush like my clasps do though. Could be nothing but it doesn’t hurt to point out

Either seller is clueless, and doesn't know what he is doing at all, or seller realllllllly knows what he is doing

It’s not like the op bought the watch for $4000 out of the back of a truck. Seems like a slightly below market price and I think the op did well.

Why would the seller tell OP about the second offer of $6500, if he intended to honor the deal for $5700? Could it be a tactic to make OP think he was getting a better deal, and get him to bite without thinking it through?

OP, if the watch is legit, enjoy it and wear it in good health. But have your radar on at full strength. There are some good reasons here for skepticism.

Does the serial # match up? Sorry for casting more doubts but sure seems too good of a deal.

Slightly below market price! The market price for subs purchased from anywhere expect an AD is at a considerable premium not the other way around.

Used SubCs are being listed above retail right now. $5700 is almost $3000 below retail. That would have been substantially under market back when the market was soft. Under current conditions, it's a steal...let's hope not literally.
It could be the seller just really needed the cash, and OP was at the right place at the right time. But the price really does warrant caution and scrutiny.
