Do the purist leave the aluminum bezel original?

My bezel on 16610 has a few marks and knicks just wondering do you guys swap them out or leave it. Wanted to know what’s the census. I’m kind of leaning to leave it because it will take more of a beating after I swap it anyways.

Mine has a big scratch. It's a $40 cost and there are tons of replacements. Probably get a new one when I do a RSC service. Only exception would be a flat four or other unusual bezel.

What condition is it in? If it's minor, I'd take no action. If it is substantial, I'd have a replaced with another OEM. I'm not sentimentally attached to bezels.

Well watches like the 16610 and all the rest of the 5 series with changeable inserts are just that, watches made so the inserts can be easily DIY changed. And inserts now at around $50 from Rolex so easy to change, but quite a different story with the ceramic inserts.

I would leave it. It’s your scratch, if it was someone else’s scratch I would change it. Maybe I am weird though!

I recently swapped out a dinged up 16600 bezel but had the same thoughts beforehand. I much prefer the clean replacement and it’s basically dirt cheap as far as parts go.

Exactly changed mine on my 16600 SD a few time but had a very hard life working as a real working tool underwater as PADI instructor and dive guide.
