Does anyone know the MSRP on that beautiful, yet over-the-top Rolex?

This watch is like the king of dress watches. I think I saw a price tag of roughly $38,000 USD.

Price is not the big issue, the look itself just seems gaudy to me.

I went to a suburban mall yesterday and saw this place called Treasures. It sells all kinds of jewellry but mostly incrusted with diamonds. They had a Rolex Day Date in platinum completely encrusted with diamonds. I am not sure if this store is in most malls across the country but the prices go from $400-$100,000.USD on there diamond encrusted MOVADO and Rolex. I was told by one of the workers that rappers and other sports celebrities stop in and make large purchases.

I think the MSRP of that watch is $47,150 USD.

Let's see, you could have that or a:
1. SS Daytona
2. SS Sub w/date
3. TT Sub
4. SS DJ (Rhodium, with Romans of course)
5. LV Sub
6. TT GMT II Anniv.

And still have enough left over for a winder, insurance, restocking of the wine cellar and a tank of gas.

Easy choice

I love this side of Rolex

I guess the longer you own Rolexes the more you decide what you like and don't like. I like the diamond side of the Rolex product line as seen in these (borrowed pics).

Isn't weird how Rolex seems to design so many over the top heinious models yet there standard sport models seem to stay relatively conservative

I believe it's the 50th Anniversary Day-Date.

I LOVE that watch. Saw one here in Oz in 2006!

A little over the top I agree, but it wouldn't be an everyday watch, right.

I'd trade mine for that anyday.

a diamond dot dial is where i would personaly draw the line. on a day date i would have it as i believe it is a bit of a bling watch anyway but i think rolex dials and bezels are perfect, and that diamonds would spoil them- just my 2p worth though

I think it looks kinda cool. I want a pres, and if I had 50K to blow on a watch then this one may not be it. With that said I would have bought it if I already had a more traditional looking pres, but not for my first one.

WOW, I could understand the strong opinions against the leopard daytona and the green emeralds on the President, but seriously I do not like the LV Sub. If I were to have purchased an LV sub I would have got rid of the green bezel insert but for lesser money just got a SS Sub Date. Most of you guys explained to me the Maxi dial and larger hands which is a great detail, but I later learned of these were features from Vintage Subs. Hence 50th Anniversary

It's perfectly fine not to like the concept of jewels on dials and bezels. However, when you hold these in yoiur hand and look at the quality of the stones as well as the workmanship you cannot help but be impressed.

I don't think a Diamond encrusted Rolex is heinus or gaudy. I think when we see pics no matter how clear still don't do the watch justice. If you had one of them in your hands and even tried one on then you would smile. You can automatically feel the quality and presence the watch is trying to give. Its a Rolex.

I have tried those paved dial watches, seriously you can't even see the time on those things. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with diamond jewelry, I wear a 2 cttw eternity diamond wedding band everyday, but at least that ring doesn't stop me from doing anything, I can't even see the time those iced out rolex with white gold hands.

I was on a flight and the guy next to me was wearing a iced out pt DD, it looks stunning and he had to struggle to tell time when that thing lits up under the reading light.

Diamond markers are alright, but makes the watch a bit too dressy for everyday. I'd suppose if you want to get one for those special occasions, these are the watches to get.
