Trade please help. 5960p for meteorite GMT
Good evening
I’ll make this quick- would you trade 2006 PP 5960p plus 3k for a 2022 complete Rolex Meteorite GMT? Thank you |

In this particular case I likely would. I’m not personally crazy about the 5960p.

I would not normally trade PP for Rolex as it’s a step down the ladder to me. No idea whether this one would be a good trade.

The 5960p especially with blue dial much more special for me.

Sure, if you really like the Rolex more.
That said, while I'm no big fan of the 5960 as the design isn't great, the GMT Meteorite to me is a purely "hey everyone, look at me" Rolex (many Rolex are). There's a vast mark-up for the special dial. The PP of course packs real horological punch with a variety of complications and is finished well. But none of that matters if you've fallen out of love with it. |

I’d try negotiating a fair trade. I think adding the 3k is too much. Other than that, I think it’s a no brainer.

Why not trade it for a better patek - 5270?

These are two drastically different watches. You’ve been given a lot of great feedback on this thread. Most of it pertains to value.
My question is, why are you considering this? Have you always wanted a precious metal GMT? Do you love the meteorite dial? Do you want more of a “tank” than your Patek? Do you want a bracelet rather than a strap? I believe much of this crazy hobby is emotional. We buy, or should be buying, what we love. At the end of the day, which of these watches will you love more? |

No way. But a 5960A is my daily, and the modern GMT case is too blocky for my taste.

I prefer the 5960 by far, but do the trade if you're not wearing it.
