AP Royal Oak 56023ST - Quartz no good?

Hi all, was just wondering if anyone had any experience or knowledge of this model (56023ST) which has the AP 2506 caliber. I found the below on another thread and seen things on youtube, but other than that I cannot find much more information. Is this a watch to steer clear of? My main concern as I have seen on youtube comments is if something happens to the circuit board the watch is then essentially ruined? are older quartz watches not repairable? in this day and age it seems hard to imagine something as simple as a 3 hand quartz cannot be repaired. I also noticed on the specific model I was looking at the dial has a tropical patina coming on, should I expect this continue throughout the dial?
Thanks

I did see this, and did wonder if that point was absolute and I should just take that at face value and follow the advice.....wondered if there were any other opinions to the contrary. Doing an expensive service every 3 years would be annoying over time I can imagine.

My wife nearly bought an older quartz royal oak herself, the deal didn't work out, but my idea was quartz would be easy for her to maintain (she doesn't care about movements as such). Clearly this is not the case.

The 56023ST has removable case back, battery change is almost as easy as on a a cartier tank (just eight screws instead of four)
