Midsize Tudor Submariner or Black Bay 58 Blue

I have a BB58 Blue I picked up used for a couple grand. I really like it but I can’t get the midsize 90s era Tudor sub out of my head. The problem is, it’s about twice the price and at 36mm, it may be too small for my 6.5” wrist. It is also not easily available to try on for obvious reasons. Any advice is appreciated!

Once you get your head around the price then that’ll be a start. For me the older ones are brilliant. All you need to do is source one but finding one is clearly an issue. Would you ever consider buying one sight unseen? which is something I’ve had to do in the past

Tudor subs are fantastic! Can't go wrong, honestly. I'd rather have one than a 58. Had a 58 gilt a while back. Wore it a handful of times. I also have a 6.5 inch wrist.

The 58 just wears awkwardly, given the poorly designed bracelet articulation (at the clasp). Couldn't get a nice fit.

PS: I don't think you'll have any issue with a 36mm looking "too small". I happen to love my 5 digit explorer. Think it looks perfect :)

My first proper watch was a mid 90s mid size Tudor sub. It’s a great size, wears similar to my explorer and early 6202

75190 (sapphire glass) or 75090 (acrylic plexiglass) in either blue/black look great on a six and a half inch wrist imho.

If new 58 is bettered by the 54 btw imho, much cleaner dimensions, better crown, bezel, insert, glass, link width/profile, height off wrist, dial hue etc etc

I'd still go the vintage route. £3000 just about buys a loose goose!

Buying one from a trusted reseller that comes highly recommended and literally buying it based off very good photos and information. Sometimes what you want isn’t always readily available in your area

I'm a pretty big guy and I wear a Tudor midsize Sub sometimes. I think the size will be fine for you. And I love the bezel feel. Looks better to me than a BB58 but that's just personal preference.

A 6.5" inch wrist is on the smaller size. A 36mm watch is about perfect for your wrist size. I don't shy away from watches that I can't try on. In fact, my current rotation are watches that I bought by only looking at photos online...zero regrets. I think you'd be very happy with a mid-size Sub.

Ya I was going to say a 6.5-inch wrist is pretty small, I know I have a pair myself lol and I wear from 34mm up to 42mm just fine, what makes a watch look small IMHO is the lug-to-lug size, 36mm should be fine.

I have the mid size Tudor Sub and wears just fine.......prices have softened recently, so still its great value and a good entry point into vintage or neo-vintage.

I would love a blue 75090 but with a 7.5in wrist, a 36mm just doesn't work for me, frustratingly as I think the 36mm must be the bargain Sub of any variety, these days!

I'd take a picture for you, but I just shipped it off in trade for a DD.

Don’t have a 75090 but as per per powerfunks rare salmon 75190 - here’s my silver 75190 made only one year on 7.25 inch wrist…so 6.5 inch be really fine imho
