Icon17 State of the collection...

Have I ever done this here, exposed my heinous symbols of massive greed and egoism? Well, here they are. The fact that I own six Rolexes only serves to prove that I am intelligent, rich, powerful and exceedingly well hung

In reality, it appears that I've inadvertently created a balanced collection: I have 2 sport models and one Datejust that were all BNIB purchases and produced within 3 years of each other, and.... I have 2 sport models and one Datejust that are all vintage and produced within 3 years of each other. Unintended symmetry.

Back row from left: 16200 Datejust with rhodium dial and Roman numerals, 114270 Explorer, and 16610 Sub-date.

Front row from left: 1981 17000 Oysterquartz, 1980 16750 GMT Master, and 1979 5513 Submariner.

A little secret? I'm supposed to be selling the 16200 Datejust to fund the 5513, but... well, I think we'll just see if my wife asks about it or not =)

A fair shot of the three "bezeled beasts"... I really like the 5513's bezel notches, it's interesting how the GMT has almost nothing, the sub-date is inbetween, and the 5513 has those great, deep crenellations.

And lastly, my new baby, the 1979 5513. I finally got up the nerve to use the 10X loupe on this baby, I had to see if it's really as nice as I think. I inspected the entire dial, and found nothing of significance to complain about. I doubt that *any* of my other watches can pass that test. It makes me nervous about getting it serviced, now!

pocket watch. As for the girlie model picture well they are less rare than 5513s.

Beautiful pics Micah. Great collection also. Always liked the GMT since you got it but condition wise I think the 5513 has it beat hands down.

My arms are tired from the standing ovation I gave you Micah.

Not only for the watches, but because I know that you wear them and love each of them in their own way, like children.

Very true, I've managed to stick to my ideal that one shouldn't buy a watch unless you want to wear it. I don't go in for the safe-queen stuff.

This 5513, though... it's so nice I feel nervous about wearing it. So far.

You'll change your tune once you put the first scratch on it.

But Daren is right, Micah. You certainly do enjoy your watches and wear them the way they are designed to be worn. Good on ya!

Hey, Daren, Micah's the guy you ought to get to adopt you. That's one nice collection.

Thank you all very much!

Your kind words are really appreciated. I sometimes hesitate at posting pics because I don't want it to seem like I'm trolling for compliments, I'm not, I just enjoy taking pics of Rolexes and sharing them with people. The visual element of this hobby is meaningful, I think. In the past I've seen people bash picture-related posts (not so much on this forum as others) as being "just showing off" or "people with too much money and not enough sense" etc. etc. Like I said, I just enjoy taking pics and sharing them. Good pics are one of the things that led me so far into this hobby, I'm glad to repay some of that debt.

P.S. I can't believe no one's mentioned my "well hung" comment in the original post yet, you guys are slipping

LOL!! I honestly had to just go re-read the post to see it, I was in such a hurruy to see your beautiful pics I skipped right over it.

As to your comments about the pics, that is absurd IMHO!!!! I love the photo part of this hobby, to me I have as much or more fun with that than the watches. I honestly could look at the pics from everyone, no matter how good or bad all day.

Don't get me wrong, it is a bonus when I look at yours or Mavs or any other "pure" pic, but I like them all. For anyone to even for one second think you were trying "brag" either does not know you or are just trolls out for trouble.

I hope you post many more pics of your watches, but by themselves and as a family, the family shots don't get enough airtime IMHO.

In closing of my thesis I just want to honestly from the bottom of my gut tell you Micah, PLEASE KEEP THE PICS FLOWING MY MAN!!!!

Thre problem was, Micah, I couldn't get beyond laughing at the "intelligent, rich, powerful" self congratulatory accolades to finish reading the sentence. Now that I wend back to read the whole thing, I am ROTFLMAO!!

As for the pictures, like Daren said, keep them coming. One request, though.

NO ORANGE PUMPKINS, PLEASE!!!
