Fakee Daytona at the cookout

I met a neighbor at a July 4th party, and saw that he was wearing a gold Daytona on a leather strap. We started talking watches and he seemed knowledgeable. He took the thing off and in describing the deployment strap he wanted to get, he handed it to me and I saw the caseback. It was inscribed with all of that "Suisse Geneve" stuff, a coronet and some other gibberish. Then flipping it over I caught a little steel showing through the edge of the bezel. I quickly redirected the conversation away from watches. Honestly, I don't know if he knew, but I wasn't going to be the one to tell him.

I really think he would know, a fake Daytona is cheep compaired to the real thing.

Probably right. Maybe I'll slowly convince him to buy a real Rolex or Omega.
