SS SUB or SS GMT-C

Like buses, both have come along at once - Love them both equally, heart thinks Sub for the strap as its all brushed, but the look of the GMT wins on aesthetics.
I need to make a decision, but cant

Thoughts please....

I'd go for the GMT. More of a "useful" watch, especially if you travel a lot.

Go for the GMT IIc and get the "new" look. The sub will soon change and you will have the "old version" if you buy it now.

Hi,
I have both also.
My Sub is being serviced and I am wearing the GMTIIC now.
As soon as I get the Sub back it will go straight on my wrist....I miss it that much.
They are both great so really whichever one you choose ,you can't go wrong.
Be prepared though because you will probably end up with both

Regards Mike.

gmt IIC all the way- the bezel, the clasp, the maxi dial, the extra timezone- everything is better in my humble opinion
cheers!

If it is your first Rolex, then make it the Submariner

Good luck with your decision

It's really a no brainer unless you do lots of diving in hundreds of meters of water.

GMT-IIC has all the features the SS Sub won't get for 2-3 years plus it has the added utility of a 2nd TZ. The current Sub is a great watch but having both I give the nod to the GMT-IIC.

I wonder what people will say when all the improvements are added to the Sub and the only real difference between the two will be the ADDED feature of a second TZ for the GMT-IIC and an artificially reduced depth rating that in practical terms means nothing.

Selecting a Sub over a GMT-IIC is like saying those two cars are alike, but I think the one that doesn't come with a DVD player is better.

Cheers all - yep first Rolex.
It will sit nicely next to the Panny, IWC, Bulgari and Omega.
Only have a four watch winder so somethings going to be out of a house soon.
Still undecided on what to get though....

Aaagh!

So do any of these others have a GMT feature? If none do, I can't see how you avoid getting a "travel" watch with a 2nd TZ.

I would go with the sub, I like the GMT IIC but I like the classic model better, I know, I'm old school. I would like the GMT IIC more if it had a brushed bracelet, I just cant take polished links.

if the only thing holding you back on the GMT IIc is the polished links, then get the GMT; you won't be sorry :-)

GMTc is my vote. Now, if you like the classic Rolex aesthetics, then the sub will be more appealing. The SS sub is probably due for an update in a year or so.

GMT IIc, definitely! Though I did find myself envying a guy's Sub the other day, nothing is like my GMT IIc.

GMTIIC all the way. I have the TT model and love it. It all comes down to personal prefeences.

I don't like the block case and the oversize numbers on the bezel of the GMTc....

I would go Sub...

I have them both and hardly ever wear the GMT IIc. I just never have fallen in love with those polished center links. I'm actually thinking of flipping it, so I would say Sub all the way, but that's just me. I'm sure you will love which ever watch you decide on. Good Luck.
