116509: leather or oyster bracelet?

Hey guys, first post here, just looking for some advice.

I'm the proud owner of an 116509 blue dial Daytona. As nice as the bracelet is, it gets beat up and scratched pretty easily. I'm caught in two minds about getting a leather strap for generic use and just saving the bracelet for now and again.

What's everyone's thoughts on this- will it look weird? Is it a cardinal sin to remove the bracelet? Should I go for a blue strap to match the dial? Or should it even be leather rather than similar to that of the 116519LN?

Hi, first of all congrats on a great piece! There is nothing wrong with putting it on a leather band; Rolex made several bands specifically for the Daytona (deployant style, you could source a WG deployant for it) or can buy an aftermarket band as well (deployant or buckle type). Am pretty sure would look sweet on a black, light brown or a blue band.

Get an OEM rubber, blue that fits the dial and you'll be happy days.

Id wear it on Oyster flex most of the time, but on a dressy night out, I’d change it to a leather strap.

Thanks for the input guys! I certainly didn't expect to get any responses at all on my first post lol.

I'm all for embarrassing the bumps and bashes on an SS model but I personally think white gold should be kept clean. I'm going to experiment with some oysterflex and leather straps to play around.

Should neither of them tickle my pickle then I'll just surrender to the inevitability that it's gonna take a bashing every now and again haha

Forgive me- my eyes are absolutely terrible lolol.. is this a dark blue oysterflex strap? ^^^^^^^

Do as you wish! It’s your watch. There’s nothing wrong with having an option to toss it on a strap whenever you’d like a change. When you go back to the bracelet it will feel all the more special :-)

Oysterflex

The metal bracelets a nice but personally not a fan.

The oysterflex are amazing. I choose it over leather any day because it's more durable, you can get it wet etc.

I know I am raising this from the dead...but how did you get those endlinks? I think that looks very sharp!
