Heard from watchmaker in Miami that a FedEx truck was robbed or broken into and 10 packages were taken. FedEx picked up package at Rolliworks in Miami on Feb 15th. Piece never left Miami. FedEx is investigating and Rolliworks has started claim process. I don't care about the money,I will be made whole. I want the watch. Everything on FedEx website indicates delayed.

Did fedex confirm this happened ? I’m just curious. Seems weird to me that a whole truck is there and they grabbed the box with your watch in it.

What year was the watch. Looks beautiful

FedEx investigation ongoing. As well as Rolliworks insurance doing investigation. Watch was just fully restored to spec. 1978.
Other information obtained from very reputable watchmaker in Miami about the truck being either robbed or broken into.

Sorry to read this hopefully they can recover the items. Sending high price items in this way for me is a massive risk even if they are insured and for me some items can’t be replaced.

Sorry to hear this OP.

I hope your watch makes it way to you somehow.

Maybe there’s a chance your watch wasn’t stolen, but the contents of this truck are all being held until the investigation concludes?

Stolen Watch

Sorry to hear about this theft.

Just a few weeks before your case a FedEx driver in Ohio was arrested for stealing MacBooks. An inside job.

Since no reports are in the Miami media for your theft, I suspect this case could be another insider job.

I know none of that lessens the anguish.

Hope they can bring your watch back to you once the culprit is determined and apprehended.

These events are obviously extremely rare, but very disturbing to hear about. Thanks for posting and I hope you recover the watch, or are at least made whole.

Why would you want any of the other boxes? Probably shoes for someone's wife. OP said they took 10 boxes off the truck. Seems like a good way to target a Fedex truck that picks up at Rolliworks and has small packages with highly valuable content.

Unfortunately this type of incident is quite common and a subject in which this industry tries to keep quiet.
A while ago I bought a gorgeous 16750 Matte dial from a trusted seller to be delivered via FedEx from USA, I tracked the package all the way from NYC, into London, up the M1 to the FedEx sorting office in Leeds (I live in NE England).... and then it disappeared!!!
Fortunately insurance ensured I didnt lose a penny, but I would have loved to have got my hands on that watch.

Reading this story for me only highlights how the drivers have become really soft targets. And hopefully these sorts of things are a chance in a million

Omg. I got my band from rolliwork last week. I’ve sent several expensive things including 5 Rolex and Tudor and camera gear. I make it a point to include Apple air tag in anything of value. I shipped my viper to Utah and was able to track it every step of the way even though the driver didn’t have an iPhone. FedEx once lost my $5k camera when canon was servicing it. I had a heart attack. Canon sent me a replacement camera to use. A week later FedEx found my camera. $20 and a comfort of mind.

I guess I was unlucky...FedEx truck was hit on Feb 15th and 10 packages were taken. Unfortunately I was a victim as was two dealers out of NJ.....they reached out to me, after I posted my watch with serioal on several rolex forums on social media. At least i was made whole with the insurance Rolliworks put on the package they were shipping back to me. Trust me, I'd rather have the watch.

The question is how do the robbers get the info that so and so pieces will be picked up by the driver on that day. Luckily for you, insurance covered everything. In some European countries FedEx do not offer insurance for luxury items such as watches. Others do, FedEx don't.

Agreed. My grandfather Tudor sub if I lost I would be heartbroken. I shipped it to both mark and rik to get it fixed. Held my breath for both of them. When I shipped it to Rik he had a hurricane come through and advised me to wait 48 hrs before shipping. My father’s old Rolex has the band serviced at Rolliworks when they were in Cali and I had mark fixed it this time. 2023 was the year I spent getting too many watches serviced. Hopefully I won’t be doing that again for another decade. Hope u get a replacement. Sorry for your lost. I even AirTag my kids book sacks so if something happened at school I can locate them. I got like 20 AirTags my wife thinks I’m nuts :-)

Sit across the street from a watch repair facility, watch the truck leave, follow it, (your choice how to rob...whatever your go-to MO happens to be), take the boxes with the facilities name or return address, run.

Don't drag me into this as an accessory if you get caught.

You’re so smart for posting something like that on a public forum
