I like JLC more but I feel like after discounts you get a lot more with Breguet.

Personally, i feel Breguet is the better of the two and has an exceptional legacy in horology. Since both are owned by different large conglomerates....

JLC is owned by Richemont

Breguet is owned by the Swiss Swatch Group

Am curious, which conglomerate do you trust more?

I think breguet offers such amazing value used. My conerns is, am i going to be able to sell the watch after? Has anyone had difficult experience trying to sell their breguet?

From personal experience it's way easier to sell a Breguet than a JLC but anything will move if you price it correctly.

Interesting question. I have purchased direct from IWC, Panerai, VC and from a JLC and VC Boutique. I can say from a customer service stand point I have been treated exceptionally well. All of my Swatch Group purchases have been through either an AD or Boutique (with the exception of used pieces). All but one boutique experience in Orlando have been great, same with the ADs. I have had one each need of service, both back in about 5-6 weeks.

From a watch making perspective that is another, tougher question. Today I am coin flip there as well.

Breguet is probably a better value second hand but I just don't like them for myself.
I like a couple of them but never like them when I try them on.
JLC is not a brand I own nor really have much desire to add but I could easily pick a few JLC watches before I picked a Breguet.
You just need to pick which watch you like most as both are good brands.

To me Breguet is more interesting than Patek and Vacheron
Most people will not agree but thats marketing that made them believe this.

So JLC or Breguet ... too easy

Breguet is better value second hand for certain.

However, you better like a dress watch. Their dress watches are beautiful. The Type XX doesn't do it for me and they ruined the Marine with the ridiculous looking indices.

Correct me if I am wrong - but didn’t JLC make the ebuache (movements) for AP, Patek and other prestigious brands for many decades - Breguet has not.
I would use that as one basis in making my decision……

Can find great gems in both but I personally prefer Breguet over JLC in general.

To me this has absolutely zero importance
Thinking that way you should buy longines cause once the made the 13ZN, 30CH and other wonderful chronograph movements that back then were THE reference.

The ebauches JLC delivered to Pate, AP and others were rather simple barely finished movements

My opinion is that on looks alone and cost at resale, the Breguet is the one to get. But I like the Breguet design language, so I'm biased.

I need to fully disclose that personally, I have yet to see a JLC that I really, truly, wanted to own.

That being said, if you are into movements, JLC has the upper hand.
