This is perhaps one of the most unique, storied, and desired vintage watches.

The Blacpain Fifty Fathoms is a storied diver watch, originally conceived as a collaboration between Blancpain and the elite French diving team. The original pieces developed employed radium paint. Over time, as Blancpain and the public became aware of the dangers of radium, the brand shifted towards a commercially available Blancpain Fifty Fathoms that it wanted to make clear was safe for use by printing on the dial a no radiation symbol with accompanying text "No Radiations".

The watch's unique look and stunning design feature a black gloss dial with creamy patina, a Bakelite bezel, and sword hands. Over time, this reference has become highly desired and collectable and has been spotted in the collections of numerous notable persons including Jacques Cousteau.

This specific piece features the intact, original bakelite bezel (extremely rare due to its brittle nature). The watch is in its original, unpolished condition. The watch was recently serviced by one of the foremost vintage experts, Ridley Watchmakers (March 2022) and comes with the service receipt ($2,000+) and appraisal certificate ($50,000) as well as all original parts. The watch also comes with an eBay authentication card and a stunning Blancpain burlwood box (missing interior cushion). Please note that the band and clasp are not original to the piece.
