Pics of the new 18ct Gold Deepsea

I visited my favorite AD in Hawaii, and they had the new solid gold Deepsea on display as an "exhibition" piece. I asked if I could try it on, and I have to say, it's a stunning watch. While it’s quite heavy, it feels surprisingly comfortable on the wrist. My AD in Japan mentioned that they haven’t received a single piece yet, so it was a real treat to see one in person and get the chance to try it on.

I’m sure it’s a spectacular watch in person. I really like my JC DSSD but i can’t imagine wearing the gold version?

Love it! Would really like to see it in person. Blue ring lock changes the dial esthetic and in my opinion is a home run.

Wow quite an attractive beastie isn't it!!

I really like the look of the blue rehaut, but wish it didn't have the "original gas escape valve print" as that's a bit unnecessary, because it shouldn't need to be said.

The blue dial on gold is particularly eye catching.

I predict this is going to be a hit ... and a home run for Rolex!!

My AD in Bahrain is discounting this pretty heavily, nearly tempted me into buying the watch...and it's already under UK retail on chrono 24....

For reference, the watch retails for approx $63,700 in Bahrain but you can take off approximately 8% sales tax at the airport making the final price $58,700....after his discount and sales tax refund the price drops to $52,000 or around £40,000....my understanding is that retail in the US is $54,200 before tax and £47,500 in the UK

So far he has had 3 and sold all 3....absolutely dwarfed my wife's 36mm daydate

I have a feeling it will be one of those pieces that has a rough start, gets discounted and goes below retail but eventually after it gets discontinued becomes a cult classic demanding a premium....let's see

Wow, as my gold Sub is already a handful (wristful), I can't imagine the heft of this beast. It is definitely too much over the top for me. Talking about blue cheese.

The only thing I personally like about it is the colour blue with the gold, and especially the fact they've used a flat blue for the dial instead of sunburst. And size-wise it fits the OP very nicely looking at the pics.

Apart from that though I think it's quite a silly piece, and not to mention far too brash and OTT for me.

My AD had one in and I tried it on.
I think the blue is stunning.
Obviously it’s heavy and I couldn’t get the idea that a solid gold DeepSea seems a little bit ridiculous so not for me but interesting to try it.

There are many things that you can call this watch but or me having tried it on at my AD is that the watch is simply stunning.

It really is a statement piece, the yellow gold alongside the blue bezel and dial work superbly together, I really cannot fault it.

Actually, there may be one small issue, you need two, one for each wrist otherwise you walk lopsided.

A very powerful statement - I like it.

And you know that if you fall off the side of a ship, you can sink really far down before you start worrying about invalidating the warranty

I recently turned this one down from my AD but size wise, I definitely would prefer this to the big Deep Sea. Equally beautiful watches…

Would you need a buoyancy compensator to swim with it? Might remove the need for a weight belt when diving.
