Speedmaster Racing

Purchased a Speedmaster Racing White dial a day ago. 329.30.44.51.04.001

Want to say that I'm very happy and impressed with this watch. The case has beautiful lines and curves and the cantilevered ceramic bezel feels very luxurious. Two dimensional photos just can't do it justice. Indoors the dial appears white but in bright outdoor lighting it has an off-white textured appearance. Nice touch.

The main comment I want to make is regarding the watch's 44mm case diameter. I was prepared for a "huge watch" experience when I went to look at the Racing. This watch wears quite well and is not at all overbearing thanks to a very efficient lug-lug dimension. It's more elegant and comfortable than one might perceive based on comments. Like any watch you need to see it in person. This is all calibrated by taste and wrist size of course.

My experience is of wearing a GMT-II 80% as a daily and a 43mm Sea Dweller the remaining 20%. I'd say this Speedmaster Racing wears not too different from the SD43. This watch is noticeably thinner than my PO 42 with an 8500 movement.

Bottom line, very nice watch and I want to give Omega their due.

I have always wanted one but the 44 scared me away. My wrist is a smidge under 7 in. Do you have any wristshots?

Omega's sizing includes crown. Most other manufacturers just include the case dimensions. It does not wear like a 44mm watch. It wears pretty much identical to 42mm watches. Tim Mosso has a 6.3" wrist. You can see his review wearing the watch here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dq3N...atchBoxReviews

Watchfinder made a good side/side video of the two.

Congrats - love that one!

I have a 6.75" wrist and a 44.25 speedy - it wears incredibly smaller than stated, and thinner than it's height would suggest!

IMO this is a better looking watch than the Daytona.

Not the racing model but the same case size. To me the 44.25mm Omega wears pretty similar and maybe a smidge smaller than my 43mm Sea Dweller.

Both are good modern size watches but neither wears oversize IMO. Close to perfect for me.
