Best blue dial?

Hi guys,

I am in the mood for a blue dial but not sure which one I should settle for.

Am considering the Sky Dweller, the Daytona (although I already have an SS white and and SS black), the YM40 and the Nautilus.

Other ideas more than welcome!

I think I am leaning towards the SkyD (probably more reasonable in terms of budget and also less seen around) but all thoughts appreciated!

Thanks!

I'd love me a WG Daytona.

but since you already have not just one but TWO SS Daytonas, I'd "settle" with the blue face Nautilus.

The best blue dial watch is the one you want to own and wear, and its your opinion only that matters.

I like the smurf but does it wear dressy? While I am comfortable wearing a Hulk, I find the blue of the Smurf a little less "subtle" for dressy situations. Am I wrong in your experience?

We don't dress up much in San Diego but I wear the Smurf on all occasions and, yes, I would wear it with a tux. But I have been called "an iconoclast and a pedant" so I tend to make my own rules.

Of the ones you offered, I am going to say Sky-D. An amazing annual calendar complication, a beautiful sunburst dial, and easy to wear. My next choice would be the YM, the 116622 is so easy to wear and so comfortable on the wrist.

However, some of these guys are bring some great other options here.....it comes down to what you are going to smile at when you look at your wrist.

I love my WG DD Lapis Lazuli.

It can certainly “go dressy” if you want (tho I usually wear it with jeans), and I believe there’s a YG one still FS here on TRF!

If youd consider Panerai, I'd suggest this one.

The dial is the most dynamic I've ever seen. No filters in these pics.

That said, I understand the size (or brand) isnt for everyone.

There was one for sale here in TRF not long ago.

All IMHO, of course. These are some very different blues. For me the ultimate blue is the FP Journe CB — so many shades of blue depending on the light and the viewing angle. The WG Daytona’s blue is beautiful in brighter light and understated and under-the-radar in normal indoor lighting. To me, the Nautilus mostly looks grey with a hint of blue, but very pleasing to the eye in its own way. No real preference in terms of the others mentioned. It’s nice to have such a dilemma!

If choosing from the list you presented, I would take the Skydweller. The Skydweller is an annual calendar two timezone watch, very cool piece and 42mm.

Yes I’m biased, but my 5711/1a gradient blue dial is my favorite.

I would choose the Nautilus from your selection. However, do you have access to actually get all these - or are you buying gray so retail availability isn't an issue?

I would suggest you also look at the Royal Oak blue dial. Stunning watch.

Love the design of the Royal Oak, but for some reason I can't explain, it does not look that well on my wrist. :(
