Anyone deal with daytonaguy?
He reached out to me about a watch (my Patek 5054) I have for sale. A number of red flags went up immediately. For one, he joined a year ago but has zero posts. Also, he asked for a grace period to have the watch inspected with the possibility of using an escrow service. The "grace period" is a hard no, but I did offer the opportunity to do a face to face at my AD. He never responded.
I don't know for a fact that this is a scammer, but be very cautious if anyone is dealing with daytonaguy. |

I’ve been in communication with daytonaguy (Jason) for about 3 weeks as he wanted to buy my Skydweller.
He scheduled to meet me 3 weeks ago and we drove 1 1/2 hours to meet him in San Jose. Shortly before the meet time, he flakes and says he has a work meeting he needs to attend due to his flight being delayed. Fast forward to today, we try to meet again at the same place. 20 min prior to meet up, he texts and says there’s a problem and that the authenticating jeweler isn’t available til 1:30 pm. We called the jeweler immediately after and he said he was available anytime which was a red flag. We backed out of the deal after this as it just didn’t feel right. |
