RO 37 size comparisons

After trying on Royal oaks/chronos from 37-38-39-41 anyone have some size comparison photos of a 15550 or 15450 relative to some common reference points like a sub, DD40/DJ41, Daytona, DJ36/explorer, Speedmaster (bonus if 321), Patek aquanaut, etc or anything else you think would be helpful as a comparison? And anyone own the 15450or gray dial?

I think the day date / 15450 was from Palex

Mixed I suppose. Feel I can wear both sizes based on lugs, but to me the 41 feels kind of empty and wears thicker than the numbers would have you believe. Think this would be my preferred size for any complications, open worked etc - things that need more dial space. In contrast the overall proportions of the 37 are great, with the minimalist dial working well. Too bad no rose gold (without gemset bezel or openworked) or silver dial ST option in 37.

I also find the lack of silver dial option in 37mm a strange choice after just one year with the 15550 redesign.
It’s a crisp clean look and the lighter dials felt like they wore larger. Maybe it will get re- released in the future.

I agree with your thoughts on the 41mm version ….. it just felt like too much dial / too much watch on my 7 inch wrist…… but that’s all just preference for me, it sat within the wrist edges .

15550st fits nicely on my 6.2inch wrist.

The fit is awesome and absolutely love the bracelet.

How it looked in the mirror with the slack / unadjusted bracelet.

It is funny how watches can look very different to our own eye looking down vs the mirror shots. Here’s a 43mm taupe on my wrist. Like the size from this angle, wish I had a 15500 shot from this view as well

Indeed.
We spend way too much time looking at amateur photos taken on iPhones with a wide lenses close to the watch.
This distorts the watches size relative to the wrist and creates the false impression that everyone is wearing bigger watches than they actually are.

My shift to smaller watches is a direct result of buying watches that looked great on other peoples wrists or in a mirror but looked too large to me looking down.
I like to see a little more bracelet and less dial when I look down at my own wrist so the edge of wrist / 50-52mm lug to lug watches I used to wear have been phased out and replaced with smaller watch heads with smaller diameter dials.
I got tired of feeling the dial and watch head was overwhelming my wrist.

Oops. This one should work. Yes in general I find around 48mm is a good place to be, with watches that have a hard end to the case and start folding - I think part of my debate with the royal Oak is which measurement to use, the edge to edge of the flat surface of the case, or the end of the first lug/integrated bracelet angled part.

My diver is 44mm/ 50mm L2L.
It’s almost too big but I love it on rubber and don’t like it on its stock bracelet.
Sportier utility bezels or chronograph functionality gives a watch more reason to be large IMO.
The AP chrono on strap carries its larger size well.

I would go smaller. I have 7.2 inch wrists and prefer 37mm or 39mm. 41mm just looks off like the others mentioned. Unless you have some giant chunky wrist.
