YG Sub vs VC Overseas vs Patek 5167a

Considering adding one of the following.

1. YG Sub, would be getting one more for my dad as well. Would be waiting until after Basel to make sure a new Sub isn't introduced. Already own a Smurf!

2. Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500 (Blue) - Have been going back and forth on this one for a bit. Only thing stopping me is the size (41mm) and thickness of the watch. Love the strap changing system.

3. Really can't stop looking at the exclusive 5167a Red. Doesn't seem like that will be a possibility for me as it's super limited (500 pieces). I could however get the classic 5167a and add a Khaki strap. I have yet to own a Patek. Love the 5711 but refuse to overpay 3x.

For reference, a pic of my current state of collection.

Well it seems you have a “two of each” theme, so the gold sub would complete that!

I vote for the Sub. Adds some more YG to your collection.

Seems like you’re trying to break out of your buying pattern.

I’d go with the Patek. Huge fan of the aquanaut.

I recommend expanding outside of Rolex, you have the top of the line for several Models already. The Oversea bracelet is sublime but scratches very very easily. Any thought on Royal Oak? I have the 5711 from about 7 years ago. It looks great just never felt comfortable on the wrist. All around versatile watch is Aquanaut on Gold and brown rubber strap.

Royal Oak 15202? I have thought about the RG Blue dial, I love it but dont think its for me. Not a huge AP fan. If I was to step outside Rolex, it would be VC or PP.

The RG Brown aquanaut is also beautiful but not for me. Not a big fan of brown.

What about Blancpain RG Fifty Fanthom - 45mm and 15mm thick with 120 hour reserve. It has history and presence, but may be too large.

No, only YG Sub or new sub if that happens, VC or PP.

With the Rolexes you have I would get the Patek but make it the 5164. You can put a blue or khaki strap on it.

I recently bought a new VCOverseas 4500v in black and its only 11mm thick. Its a true 41 mm and to me it wears close to a Gmtll. A few grms. heavier than a 114060 but feels better distributed on the wrist. The strap systems a game changer and the piece has a lot fine details, the cuts between the links really pick up the light and the hour markers and hands jump off the dial. Im loving it big time. Its been a sleeper but now its getting noticed with newer 3rd gens picking up a lot of steam. Waitlists, 3-4 mos. and no discounts at ADs. Happy Choosing!!...

Based on your current collection Rolex is your go to. With that said I'd stay with Rolex. Not a fan of the PP model you mentioned. I do like the VC, but it would kinda be like the odd ball of your collection.

Gotta get the odd ball out of the way at some point, no?

I love the strap change system, and really want something on rubber which this would take care of. Also love how low key and under the radar the VC overseas would fly.

True. To elaborate a little more. It sounds like you are wanting to add some variety. IMHO PP makes some of the most beautiful watches in the world, but this example is not one of them at all. I say go for the VC!!

Are you looking at the chrono or dual time ? Both are great
