1976 Rolex 1500 Oyster Perpetual Date 34mm Indago Blue Dial Custard Patina 2 Tone

For sale is a very good condition 34mm 14 karat yellow gold and stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date. The 1500 is 4.1 million serial, circa 1976, and is not accompanied by box or papers.

The Rolex features a brushed steel case, which is accented by a fixed smooth polished yellow gold bezel. The Oyster Date is mounted on its original yellow gold and stainless steel Rolex USA C&I Jubilee bracelet, which is fully linked and will comfortably fit an 8 inch wrist. The Oyster Perpetual features an indigo blue sunburst dial with applied polished yellow gold stick hour markers, gold tritium coated hands, and a magnified date window aperture at 3 o’clock. The hour markers and hands have acquired a vivid custard colored patina with age, which is even in color and tone. The movement used in the 1500 is the Rolex caliber 1570, which features approximately 48 hours of power reserve.

Condition:
The case remains strong with evenly thick lugs, while the bracelet contains stretch that is consistent with its age. The blue sunburst dial is free of any imperfections while the acrylic crystal contains some faint surface level wear, which could easily be removed with a light buff. Overall the Rolex is in very good vintage condition, and is a wonderful example of a reference 1500 Oyster Date.
