The case back is not from a 5517--it is a 5513 (copy of) caseback. It is not a double reference as that is a 5517 with 5513 on case side and proper 5517 case back--therefore it is fake IMHO.

Whats wrong with this one again? Do you mean the case back is a from a 5513? It's difficult to be exact from a photo, but the case looks correct from what I can see with its 5517 stamp and solid spring bars, and the dial, hands, bezel and crystal seem correct. Is it that it has been fitted with an incorrect back at some stage? The military markings on the back look correct. Excuse my questions but I am nowhere near as knowledgeable about milsubs as you or Larry!

It is fake I am afraid.

Look at the case markings between the lugs. The "E"s are long, the crown guards wrong and the condition of the case is much too new. A Hong Kong special for around $200.

No-the case back is not correct--5517's caseback numbers start in W10. Also--The 7's are wrong and the numbers
are awful as I look at them close--so fake!! The arrow and triangle on back--wrong again....Looks pretty bad to me.
Not a 5517---it is a fake and not a very good one at that!!!
