Lost bracelet screw-Batman

I have a BLNR (Batman) with a jubilee bracelet. I purchased it new almost a year ago to the day. A screw that holds the links together has fallen out and is nowhere to be found. My AD retired at the end of year. I called the next closest AD which is an hour away. They said that the screw is going to cost $30-40. You would think that this would be covered by the 5 year warranty. I would like to call someone at Rolex to have them send me a screw. Any suggestion?

Failing to check your bracelet screws is not a warranty issue, but it is likely that an AD with a watchmaker on staff would secure it for you.

I would expect that Rolex isn't going to mail you parts, but you could probably find their phone numbers on their site.

Not a warranty issue.

If the AD sized it you would have an extra with the links removed. Use that and move on

Would Rolex warranty give you a replacement watch if you lost the whole thing?

You would have had better luck if your AD was still a going concern. It wouldn’t be a warranty issue, but he had some responsibility to properly use thread locker on the now missing screw.

As another mentioned, check your box where you kept the extra links that were removed during AD sizing. Salvage a screw from there.

Look in your box for spare links and get a screw from there.

Just make sure and choose the correct length there are different sizes on one bracelet. Use a tooth pic add a tiny amount of Blue Locktight to the female threads.

Looking for the correct aftermarket one is extremely difficult. I did a search at several of my watch supply sources and Jubilee screws are significantly harder to find than oyster bracelet. OEM is really by far the easiest way to do this and paying whatever is going to be worth it. I did a forum thread on this awhile back about Jubilee bracelet parts.

Thanks for you advise.

True, I have a Submariner and the same thing happened and they sent me 2 screws at no charge.

There was an extra screw in the box. All good back in business

Yea right Einstein. I am talking about a $.50 screw not a $22,000 watch.

Thanks to all. I very much appreciate it. Some great suggestions, some were very helpful, some not so much. Back on my wrist and saved $40 and did not have to wait several weeks.

You've had this happen on 2 different watches? Need to keep an eye on these screws mate..

Good news. But I recommend you consider investing in some 222 Loctite to stop it happening again.

Glad you got it sorted.

It’s important to remember to check for loose screws each time you wear your watch.

I see a “why is this service so much” thread in the future. For $40, i couldn’t be bothered calling Rolex. I would have had the AD ship me the screws.

Except… OP’s AD retired, and the one an hour away has no idea if he’s legit.

OP- Glad you have it sorted out.
