Rolex Music Soundtrack???
Do you have a song or songs that run through your head when you look at, admire or think about a Rolex? Or are there any songs that you think epitomize or have the same vibe as a Rolex?
Please add your songs here and hopefully we can all learn about some cool new music. I setup this template so you can easily copy and paste it along with your answers: Song: Artist: Album: Genre: Watch: Why: I will get this party started with these selections. I have many more that I will add later. I hope you enjoy and I look forward to learning about your favorite Rolex inspired songs. Jake Song: James Bond Theme Artist: Monty Norman Orchestra Album: The Best of James Bond 30h Anniversary Genre: Soundtrack Watch: Stainless Steel Submariner Why: It reminds me of Sean Connery as bond...I think this is the quintessential Rolex Sub song. Actually this whole album is great and has songs that remind me of Rolex especially "Nobody Does it Better" by Carly Simon, "Live & Let Die" by Paul McCartney & Wings, "For Your Eyes Only" by Duran Duran, and many other classics like Goldfinger, A view to a kill, We Have All The Time in The world by Louis Armstrong, Moonraker, & the classic "On his Royal Highness by the John Barry Orchestra. Song: Raiders of the Lost Ark Theme Artist: John Williams Orchestra? Album: Raiders of the Lost Ark Soundtrack Genre: Soundtrack Watch: Stainless Steel Submariner, Explorer, YG Yachtmaster Why: Something very adventurous about the song...The YG Yachtmaster reminds me of the idol that Indy gets in the beginning of Raiders. Song: National Geographic Theme Artist: Unknown Album: Unknown Genre: Soundtrack Watch: Stainless Steel Submariner & GMT, Explorer II Why: This is right up there with the James Bond Theme. Song: Speed Racer Theme Theme Artist: Unknown Album: Television's Greatest Hits 70s & 80s Genre: Unknown Watch: Stainless Steel Submariner, Pepsi GMT, Daytona Why: Upbeat racer vibe. The whole Daytona 500 race car thing.

Well I have got a few more to share with you:
Song: Miami Vice Theme Artist: Jan Hammer Album: Televisions Greatest Hits... Genre: TV Show Watch: TT Datejust + DD Why: Reminds me of Don Johnson who used to wear Persol Sunglasses and Rolex Watches. Also, the soundtrack to the 2006 movie is incredible and also reminds me of Rolex Watches. Song: Cosby Show Themes Artist: Unknown: Genre: TV Show Watch: Day Date Why: Bill Cosby used to always wear the Platinum Day Date & YG Day Date, his wife wore the ladies DD, and his son wore the Stainless Datejust. Song: Glider Part 1 and 2. Artist: Album: The Thomas Crown Affair. Genre: Spy Watch: Yachtmaster. Why: Very James Bond like movie with incredible soundtrack. For some reason the scene in the glider where all the trees are changing with the magnificent fall palate. Song: Trouble Sleep Yanga Wame Am Artist: Fela Kuti Album: Roforofo Fight Genre: Hard to say. Watch: All Sport Rolex' Why: Listen to this song. Very James Bondish/Thomas Crown Affair. Another amazing album. Song: Magnum PI Theme Artist: Unknown Album: Television's Greatest Hits 70s & 80s Genre: Theme Watch: Pepsi GMT II Why: Magnum was the first time I ever saw somebody wear the GMT. Song: Perfect Fit Artist: Van Morrison Album: Days Like This Genre: Rock Watch: Daytona Why: The lyrics, something about how the watch fits perfectly on your wrist. Song: Into the Mystic Artist: Van Morrison Album: Moondance Genre: Rock Watch: Submariner and Explorer II Why: Something kind of mystical about the sub and the Exploer II is about exploring into the Mystic.

In one word NO!
Unless you count the late and great Barry White Because every time that I heard one of his records, I always think of the Y/G DD that he use to wear

I wished I had a cool older brother like Racer X. The one thing that I still dream about in any car, is the gool steering wheel with "A-G" button, although I don't need the chain saw function. |

Hi Paul!
Unfortunately Classical music is the only music I don't really listen to. This is going to change though and I am going to start listening to more–same with Jazz. I almost think that Jazz & Classical are genres that you appreciate more as you get older...it is kind of like a rite of passage... If you or anybody else has some cool recomendations for additional Classic music in the same vane as the ones you just mentioned I would appreciate it. Thanks, Jake

Classic!!! The song reminds me of The Donald, who definitely reminds me of 80s excess, which reminds me of the YG DD for some reason.
