5212 vs 5205G-010
Gents I’m looking to add another Patek to the collection. I have a blue 5172 and several other nice watches. No moonphase and, obviously, no weekly calendar. So price being fairly equal used which of these do you prefer and why?

I have both the 5205g 013 and the 5212a. If I had to choose, it would be the 5212. It looks good with just about any strap, which makes it very versatile.

5205G/R or 5212a for me are 2 super nice watches 5212a for sure more versatile and under the radar.

One is an annual calendar in precious metal, the other is not. But I’m biased, the 5205 is my only Patek and I love it.

The 5205 would easily win this one for me.
Neither is the wrong choice but for me I'm a huge fan of Patek AC, especially the triple aperture display. Couple this with the scalloped case and skeletonised lugs, in PM, it's an easy winner. Both are gambles by patek to move the brand into new design territories. Good luck with your choice. |

5205 easy, the 5212 looks clutter to me , matter of taste . But legibility on the 5212 is a problem for me (my eyesight is not as it’s used to be , lol) , but it’s a unique watch I have to say that.

I find the 5205 dial design quite poor just like most Patek AC dial designs. Also don't like hollow lugs. So not for me at all. Not a big fan of 5212 either TBH. Very busy for a complication I have no use for. I'd look elsewhere altogether.

Thanks all - I'm leaning 5212 simply because it's so unique and quirky. And I already have a PC so the AC may feel a bit superfluous. Keep the input coming though - a decision will be made soon!
