Keep my 116719 white gold GMT w/ black dial
Love white gold as a daily driver while the yellow gold professional model is a weekend driver. Tell me reasons why I should keep the 116719 with black dial. Some days I am irritated it looks just like a stainless steel Pepsi and there are days where I tell myself having the black dial is exclusive and more rare than the current production blue dial.
Should I sell and get a white gold Daytona or submariner? Thoughts please! |

Op, the GMT in WG does look allot like the SS to someone that does not know.but when you know, you know. The PM weight is what I like the most about the piece.
Also the stealth wealth look. I would prefer the meteorite dial myself with a PM GMT A WG Daytona with a racing dial or an WG Daytona OF with a light color dial. The blue Sub 116619LB or the 126619LB either one. Like blue dial better also the fit of 40mm case. Depends on what you already have in your collection. The PM GMT you have is very nice too.. |

As I mentioned in another thread that you posed the same question, change the dial to blue.....if not, get the Daytona or the Sub. If you are worried that this watch you have is going to be a very collectible piece, I feel that it won't reach that desirability.

⬆️⬆️⬆️ agreed. Personally, I’d get the blue dial GMT.

If you know, you know.
It's a keeper in my opinion and prefer the black over the blue dial. |

I get the WG GMT and it is an impressive piece. I owned a couple and found that for what it was it was too expensive with the SS option. I sold mine and got the SS on Jubilee BLRO and think it is a better looking watch. I would look at the WG Submariner, 116619LB, Smurf, as it is more unique and no mistaking it for what it is. A WG Daytona is always nice but the flex is and always will be the SS. Just my thoughts.

As many others said, blue dial or get a Daytona. I still would go Daytona but a blue dial at a minimum.

well said and great advice. white gold is already stealthy... might as well get a piece that you automatically know it's white gold and the Smurf is best at that. the Cookie Monster or white gold Daytona get overshadowed... def not more that the black dial/WG/GMT

I absolutely love my blue dial GMT. If you can switch to blue, that would be my advice.

only reason why I like black dial is because of versatile - black matches with everything. do you find the Smurf matching all outfits?
calling all Smurf owners and blue dial GMT owners on their opinion on this. |

I think this is spot on. Or sell this WG GMT for the meteorite version. Obviously Rolex won’t sell you just the meteorite dial so you’ll have to seek and buy a whole new watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Your watch is an accessory and does not need to match the color of your shirt, and probably shouldn’t match. Aim for compliment rather than match. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Bang on with this statement. I think blue compliments everything. I never feel like it looks out of the ordinary with a black shirt, in fact, it looks amazing.

I had the option to buy a WG blue dial skydweller from my AD several years back that looked also exactly like the SS skydweller that was super popular back then. My reason however as that it already was a heavy watch and the full WG just made it even more heavy. |

I just bought a 126719 BLRO with the blue dial. I also have the 126710 BLRO on Jubilee. I don’t care if somebody can identify my watch as white gold or not, I just truly love the way the white gold feels on the wrist.
I love yellow gold watches generally, but the white gold BLRO and a white gold Daytona 116509 I picked up earlier this year, have made my stainless steel variants of the same models not see much wrist time! I’m saying don’t sell the white gold BLRO. It’s a neat watch and not a common one. You know the special nature of it and that’s all that matters! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sounds to me like you’re concerned someone may think you “only”paid $11,000 for your watch instead of $40,000. If you like the watch keep it. If you’re worried someone doesn’t know how much you spent— you need to evaluate your narcissism.

I still vote for the Meteorite dial myself, they are unique 1 of 1 or a PM Daytona with a different dial unusual dial, the black and blue GMT dials are nice but they are a bellybuttons? Everyone has one.

I sold my 116719BLRO. I’m downsizing my collection to one watch per model. So I kept my 116718LN instead. I also sold my 116618LB but kept my 116619LB. Sold off the steel versions of both models as well. Nothing wrong with the BLRO except you can get a model that looks like it for less. Same with my old white dial WG SkD.

I would never sell my 116619LB, Glidelock and dial turn it into a keeper.
The 116719BLRO is devalued by the steel variant. The blue dial looks not as nice as the black one. |

Keep my 116719 white gold GMT w/ black dial
You said you have a yellow gold “professional model” ? What is that a sub? I think that’s a sweet combo, your Pepsi can look under the radar when you need it to (very handy) and you have the yellow one if you need to let the people know. I don’t think a dial swap to blue is going to do much for you. I’d trade it for something completely different if you’re just wanting to make a change

Once you get to a place where there's a bunch of noise in your head about the watch you're wearing, well, asking us to put a bunch more in there isn't going to help.
The real questions you've got to answer first are: when you put it on in the morning, are you in love with it? And...does it fit your lifestyle and sense of fashion? Yes, there will always be other watches out there, in the wings, that are desirable. But, more desirable? Hard to know unless you've really done some thinking on how you feel about what you're wearing. P.S. I vote for putting a blue dial on it, and keeping the black. That way, you've solved both aspects of your dilemma. |
