Does this GMT look right?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ROLEX-GMT-MAS...QQcmdZViewItem

The date display looks fishy...

I reported it. The date is not centered.

Don't think so. They started to phase out tritium in 1998 so this dial can still be ok.

Kai

The real one should say "Swiss Made".
This one says "Swiss T < 25"

cld you guys have made a mistake?

it looks good to me.....

U series wld make it a 1997 production....

tritium dials wld still be in production... hence the "swiss - t<25" marking....

the seller seems to have sold lots of high ticket items in excess of usd4,000...

so... maybe its just one of the earliest gmt II 16710s having one of the last "t<25" dials.....

the off centre date view cld be due to the pic being taken at a position which is not dead centre.....

just my humble opinion.... hope i dun offend the experts....

I come in peace...... \m/ O_O \m/

Looks fine to me - just badly in need of a service to remedy the 'sticking' date wheel.

Stupid question, but is the 24hour hand in-front of the hour hand? I thought it was at the back?

You know, I started googling and I'm finding images of some with the 24 hour hand in the back and some in the front. Was there a switch as some point in time. I think this one in ebay is legit!

Yes it is in-front. (look at the photo on the bottom left to see how the hands are)
If memory serves me right the hand stack for a 16710 is:
Hour hand closest to dial, then 24hr hand, then minute hand and lastly the second hand. (think I'm right anyways )

Yeah, I did some more googling and found out what you are saying. Looks like I saw some fakes earlier on Google that had the 24 hr hand in the back.

I don't know. The date looks off, but I think this one is real...

Check the seller. 100% positive feedback for past year selling similar high end watches. While you can't be 100% certain, it's a pretty good bet this is legit.

You're probably 100% correct. That was the only issue that caused me concern along with the bezel not lining up. Sometimes the fakers' bezels don't line up and they turn them so as to photograph them so that you won't notice the bezel not lining up. E-Bay has kept this one up, so the harm in reporting it never materialized if it wasn't fake.
