Incoming that was worth the wait and hunt!
I've been seeking this one for a while off and on, and I finally found one in effectively NOS condition. I'd never seen this model in person before it arrived yesterday, and I was actually expecting to be disappointed after all the hype I've heard about it. It turns out that all the hype is absolutely justified and the watch totally blew me away!
Here are some photos right after I got home from sizing at the Omega Boutique King of Prussia last night. Photos just do not do the dial justice! You have to see it in person. I will probably wear it to the next GTG. Without further ado, the Omega Speedmaster Professional Apollo-Soyuz 35th Anniversary LE... |

Love meteorite. I know the dark part of the dial is also Gibeon meteor, but I wonder how they inserted the light meteorite sundials into it? Very well done. The light meteorite is very VERY expensive to get in that level of quality, FYI.
And since Namibia has closed its borders to people intent on mining more high quality pieces from the remaining meteorite chunks, it is getting even harder for companies to procure new pieces. Because they have to mill the larger chunks to find the small, jewel-quality pieces, and it destroys Namibia's national treasure (or so it has been said). |
