I keep buying a Sub every few years. Is it so weird?

In my 20 years of watch journey I have sold and bought the same watch 3 times. Am I crazy?
I had two 16610, one 116610 and now 126610LV. After every Sub I sold (to pay towards another watch) I ended up buying another just a few months later. Did anyone go through the same experience?

Here is my latest (which I hope not to sell when I get my next one)

Not crazy at all - good choice for the latest.

I’ve owned 16600 2x, BBN 2x, BB GMT 2x, multiple Pepsis, etc etc etc, so I totally get it ha.

I can’t imagine not having my 116610LN. It was my first and it would be my only if I had to!!!

Did you re-buy them from the same AD or from a reseller?

I have bought and sold at least 10 SS Submariners over the years. Not because I don't like them but the prices and value is so strong they are easy to move for another watch in a trade and they are also easily replaced. The SS Submariner ND is my favorite watch of all time and I have a 124060 and a 116610LV right now and I tell myself I will not move them. I also have a SD43 and a DSSD JC. I am in the market for a YG Submariner but am going back and forth between the 11 and 12 series and the blue or black.

Sounds familiar to me.
Enjoy the new LV! It's my favorite in the Sub line.

If it weren't for the constant fluidity of watch collecting, the entire watch industry, new and used, would shrink up considerably.

I doubt any AD in the current climate would let anyone buy the same watch three times.

There's a saying "Poor man buys it twice" But 3 times? You are rich.

Perhaps not the norm but after 14 Rolex since 1984 I have never had or wanted a Sub. I did have an OG DSSD for around three years.

My Subs have always been from the reseller. I don't mind spending 2k over for a Sub and getting it next day unlike all my other watches.

Hopefully you learned this time and just keep it. I think it's the BEST watch Rolex offers (but I am severely biased)

No. It’s similar to buying the updated version of the same car every few years.

A staple in every collection. The fact that you keep coming back to it speaks loudly to that.
