Vacheron Overseas pin screw fell out

Very recently, I acquired a new VC Overseas. Beautiful thing, versatile watch. Worn it a couple times on the rubber strap. Today I wore it on the full bracelet for the first time. After a very long day, taking off my watch, I saw the pin screw for the lug was nearly completely out. I was in total shock. I didn't realise this probably because I was wearing a long sleeve shirt. But oh my... what if I dropped the watch like that?

This is a watch that's less than a week old, straight from the VC Boutique. I'm wondering is this a misstep at the manufacturing level (screw wasn't tight?) or is this a design flaw, with the bracelet/strap clamp being very strong, could potentially unloose the pin screw?

had anyone had this happen? I certainly haven't experienced anything like this from any of my other watches.

Hey Don, I have the overseas bracelet in steel and rose gold and never noticed any issues. Definitely should bring it back to the boutique and let them take a look. Vacheron will make it right!

Never had it happen in the past year for me, sorry to hear about your experience. I'm sure the local AD / boutique can check it out for you to see what the root cause could be.

Vacheron Overseas pin screw fell out

It's just a normal set screw holding in a pin. Tighten it back in and if you don't have the correct size flat head take it back to dealer. The links in the bracelet pretty much cannot come loose on their own since they are decoupled from the pins.

It sounds like your watch head screw was never tightened to begin with.

It is not a design flaw and no the quick release cannot loosen the screw.

I have both a RG and steel bracelet. Never had an issue. Probably just wasn’t tightened properly. Glad you noticed it before having a mishap with the watch falling off your wrist!
