UK PM Discount Question.
Hi
Question for the UK members. Has anyone pulled the trigger recently on a PM piece from an AD? Only reason I ask is, I have been toying with the idea for a while now of trading a few pieces and stepping up into the big boy league with a nice PM piece. The option's are a YG Blue Submariner or RG Olive Green DD. Both stunning pieces and both very different watches so it's a tough choice. I'm comfortable with the Sub as I already have the Blue TT version (and is one of the watches I'd be using to make the trade) but the DD I'm still 50/50 on as I've never had a dress watch before only sports divers. Anyway, the real question is have any UK members bought either of those two pieces recently from an AD and if so what, if any, sort of discount did you manage to negotiate? Thanks in advance. Outside London I'd push for 10% on a Subc, probably more room on a DD.

Wow! 30% would be incredible!
Ideally, I would prefer to have a UK AD supply the watch - I cant explain why, 'just because'...I suppose. However 30% would be difficult to ignore! Thanks Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Was offered 15% on a RG Skydweller last year, fairly sure I could have pushed them to 20% easily enough

Up to you, your money, but I got it stickered, immediate possession of the warranty card and no interview. Missed out on the champagne though

Lol - it's just an idea I'm toying with at the moment tbh - was just curious if anyone had managed to wangle a good deal recently that might make the financial side of the idea a little easier to justify!!
Cheers Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

I think 16.6% in the UK is a ok discount on PM.
This quote maybe wrong but I have used the same independent for 25 years , They told me the Mark up on Rolex was 34% but around three years ago was reduced to 32% . They have to carry 120 items in stock to keep there account . anyone discounting a Rolex 18k model at 30% must be nuts. I also accept People are buying these with Discounts and then Taking them out of the UK and claiming the VAT back at exit . Then they return later and sell them with abnormal discounts . Myself I like the paperwork and correct invoices duty paid in my name ! |

Discounts??????
I'm lucky to even get to see one, it's ridiculous. Went to an AD 2 months ago to ask for a white gold Daytona on oysterflex and am still waiting. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk |

well you are not going to get a discount on that. Ive been offered a few, but have yet to see one make the display case in london. So good luck on the wait. At least its not a SS daytona type wait. Its my favorite daytona by a mile.

Was offered 10% from my local AD on both the platinum Daytona and the rose gold sky dweller as soon as I had tried them on, would guess that if negotiations started there would be the potential for more.

UK PM Discount Question.
Agreed in general, but I think these are a bit different being last years release, rarely making it to the window and on the grey market they are going for rrp or just over. But hey, if you could get 10-20% off it would sure beat paying 16k for a SS one with the greys!
