Explorer II red hand

i love when the red hand disappears behind the minute hand...suddenly the white dial and the whole watch becomes a different watch, different light effect, its just like a new watch. did you experience the same?
i ve got the watch for over a month, didnt leave my wrist. and its nearly -1sec a day...

That's great, an interesting observation.

A photo would be great if you can show us what you mean

I agree. It is cool when the red disappears for a minute or two. :)

i know what you mean every hour when it happens for the breif seconds it makes the watch POP that much more.
ive had a thought of taking the GMT hand off just to see what it would be like, but then it would ruin the watch
congrats on the great watch

I am at the other hand of the spectrum lol and I absolutely HATE when the GMT hand is eclipsed by the minute hand.
To me, the EXP II is a pretty boring looking watch without that red hand.

Funny timing this post... when I headed out for work this morning, I decided to wear the black Explorer II. When I put it on, the GMT hand was hidden. It literally made me want to put the watch back in the box lol.

I like that alot as well. If I catch a glimpse of my hour hand starting to move into the ecilipse position I keep staring at the dial until the eclipse is over. Maybe my ancestors were Maya indians

That is amazing. It really allows you to focus on the crispness of the black and white. Thanks for sharing this.

I so agree with you hy12! The eclipse is awesome and gives a new character to the Explorer II when it happens.

I like that instant when all four hands line up.

Of course, mathematically they only line up when the 24 hour hand and the 12 hour hand are set to the same time (or 12 hours off). But it's close enough...
