Other way around. My drugs have gotten cheaper and more enjoyable having started w/ Patek, then Rolex, and now Tudor.

Then my first purchase was my Tudor.

No, no, yes. There's no fierce brand loyalty on may part. Tudor don't make a watch I like enough to own. If they do, I'll be there.

Rolex. I wouldn't buy a Tudor because, while they may be fine watches, they just appear to me to be watches people who can't afford Rolex end up purchasing.

Just my opinion. :)

I always thought of it the other way around. Rolex gets customers hooked, then when Rolex cannot be found, customers “settle” for a Tudor to get their fix

:-)

No knock to Tudor / Tudor owners

And this thread is proof that's a bunch of bull hockey. You have a choice to hang on to false stereotypes or embrace reality.

Tudor is what Rolex used to be, and what many brands have never been.

Started with a DJ, then grabbed a Polar 216570, picked up a BBGMT a couple years ago. I currently have some lesser brands and the BBGMT. Both my Rolex have been moved on without regret. I may be interested in Rolex again but only PM models and been leaning more towards AP lately.

Myself appreciate all brands of mechanical watches and have owned most brands but my love of mechanical watches started with a Lucerne way back in the 1960s.But shorty after got into Rolex and Tudor and researched the history of both the brands. And with over 50 years of wearing and still learning about Tudor and Rolex, quality wise both brands are now equal. But still respect all mechanical watches from Chinese made Seagull,Seiko,Seiko Grand plus the many others they all have there place in this watch world today.

Spot on!

I cry myself to sleep every night, not owning a Rolex.
Similarly - I cry as well whenever i put my BBR on my wrist..

Started with a blue dial Tiger Tudor Chrono as my first “luxury” watch. Sold it. Then all Rolex.

Been that way for over a decade. Kinda miss the Tudor though

Several Rolex & then Tudor , I realised the quality of Tudor about 30 years ago & have valued the brand ever since & since bought several more . Here is one example of Tudor quality and why I value Tudor so highly , as this thread is screaming for pictures .
But I had to laugh at the comment about people who can’t afford Rolex “settle “ for a Tudor .

I first went Rolex and then Tudor... now I say, why not both?! Very different watches at very different price points.

people who are hell bent on Rolex and think that Tudor is for the poor, are not real WIS, just Rolex bros or quasi posers. Its absurd.

Like saying i like cars but only if its an Lambo. Audi is for those who cant afford Lambo.
I have both Rolex and Tudor, and ill argue you have no taste.
And for the Record, Rolex is not Haute Horlogerie at all. You wearing your Sub in Florida is as common as a Russian riding in a Lada.
