BLNR Service Advice

Good afternoon everyone. I am having an issue with my 126710 BLNR and was hoping I could have some of the fine members of this forum chime in.

I purchased this watch new from my AD in January 2023, so it's only a year and a half old. It gets worn in rotation with 6 other watches, so I typically wear it once or twice a week and have had no issues until yesterday.

I went to retrieve it from my safe and noticed it had stopped running, which is odd because I had just fully wound it two days prior. I wound it and attempted to set the current date and noticed that the date disc would hang. The watch has been consistently clicking instantaneously as it should to the next date right at 12:07 am since I have owned it. After trying to cycle through the dates, it now consistently goes from a stuck date at midnight to clicking over at 1:30-2:00 am to the next date.

I tried to search the forums but couldn't find this as a commonly documented issue.

I guess I am worried about the issues that have been plaguing the 32XX movements (This is the first one I've had troubles with out of four others) and am concerned about low amplitude as it has also been losing 4-6 seconds per day.

I spoke with my AD and my sales rep says it will have to go back to Rolex. I'm a little reticent to send it in since it's so new, only losing 4-6 seconds per day, and the date DOES eventually click fully over at around 1:30-2, so what would you all do?

Thanks!

Somethings not right.
I would send the watch back and have Rolex make repairs under warranty.

Thank you all kindly for your responses. I had leaned this direction, but wanted to get some outside opinions in case I was perhaps overreacting. I'll take it in tomorrow for my AD to send out.

Send it to RSC and they'll sort it out. The problems you stated are not normal and there's no reason to put up with them.

It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one that feels this way!

Yeah, I guess deep down I knew I would have to and so it will be going back to my AD tomorrow to get sent out.

I had really hoped that someone would have a "Nintendo" style cheat code that would realign the date change mechanism or something I had never heard of. "Two turns clockwise, four turns counter-clockwise, adjust the jumping hour hand to 12:00, and push in the crown, etc"

Definitely not overreacting it’s something that the RSC will fix but it’s disappointing for it to happen on a watch that is still pretty new

Agree with everyone. Something is hanging it up. It might be something very simple, but it could get worse and cause bigger problems. I’d stop the movement, and send it in immediately. Good luck.

Send it to RSC stat, its under warranty and it could be causing even more harm by letting it run

Thank you to all who have posted and offered insight. It feels better knowing I was making the right decision. Just a quick update, I did take it to my AD yesterday and it will be sent off to RSC likely tomorrow. They do have an on-site Rolex watchmaker, but they wouldn't touch it as it is so new and still under warranty.

I'll keep everyone posted, and hopefully have a couple of data points to post about when I get it back (assuming Rolex even tells me what happened with it).

Batman (girl) Returns!!!!

Received a notification yesterday 8/20 from my AD letting me know the watch is back from service. I sent it out on 7/29, so I feel like this was a relatively quick turn around from RSC Dallas.

When I picked up the watch yesterday, they had it in a nice soft green Rolex pouch inside a small Rolex box that is similar to the outer box that the watches come in, which I assume is pretty typical for the service centers.

I cycled through several dates and the issue has been resolved. Just wanted to keep anyone who was interested in the loop. I sure am glad to have it back at home and working correctly!

Thank you! Same! I only wish there was some explanation given with the paperwork that indicated maybe what had occurred. Sadly, as is typical with Rolex, there was little (read no) explanation given lol.

It's a shame they didn't tell you what was the problem...I'd have asked to speak with the watchmaker. Though likely something to do with the date jumper (and maybe something up with the date disc itself, too).
