My summer vacation (thanks, Rev)
Labor Day weekend is here so summer's officially over I guess. I got a short vaca last week, 4 days in the beautiful Sierra Nevadas at my family's cabin. Cabin is at 7,800 ft, my wife and I hiked up to 10,000 feet on the third day. What an incredible time!
The view from the back porch of the cabin: Obligatory wrist shot. The knuckle of my little-finger is pointing at the same rock formation that is so prominent in the previous picture, for perspective: One of 20 lakes in the area, all at 9k feet or higher. These lakes have lovely Rainbow Trout (and blessedly few people) in them, very feisty and fun to catch... if you can handle the 3 hour hike the get there, LOL! Here I am enjoying the lake. And, of course, the coup de gras: The Explorer goes exploring! We had a great time, my son "caught" his first fish (conveniently pre-hooked by grandpa) and our only regret was the short time we had. But, work beckons, no rest for the wicked, all that jazz. So how'd you guys/gals spend summer?

The worst part about walking there, is that you have to walk back !!
Great pics Micah, that looks like the most beautiful place on this earth. And yes you did not dissapoint, the explorer explored!! You sort of look like Brett Favre too dude, very cool. My summer consisted of watching some really bad golf swings and some pretty good ones, and attaining my Class A PGA card, oh happy days!!
