2009 pp 5711
I am thinking of getting a 2009 LED dial 5711 for around 80k , this is my first Patek .
I want to know how reliable are the old 5711 ? Any red flags ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You mean other than paying $80k for a hyped $23k watch? Same basic movement. Same basic steel case and bracelet. Enjoy.
I’d much rather have a 5070, 5170, 5172, 5327, 5905, etc as a first Patek around $80k. |

Mr Asrah , I have 8 PP and yep I have a 5711 white face which I find myself wearing almost exclusively. I paid $26 k for it about 10 years ( or more ) . I could easily get $100k for it but wouldn’t even think about it - if the one you are looking at has original box and papers , yes that is a good price . You will never be sorry, promise ! If you ever need to sell it , you can always get what you paid or more back ! You won’t. Today I wore my 5711 1R but tomorrow back to my 5711 white .
Being tight I would offer them $71,000 cash and try to settle around 75 k but if you have to pay the 80 k .Don’t let anyone tell you it’s a mistake! :-)) |

My guess is you’re looking at the one that popped up on Moda yesterday.
I would not pay that nor would I pay 80k for a three-hander SS watch. Do as you wish though; and if you must have it, wear it in good health! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Do you want a LED dial specifically?
Those are the ones that look worst IMO. I don't care if they are rare and would always aim for a later example that has the more vibrant blue dial they introduced at some point between the LED dials and the 2018 logo change. For piece of mind I'd likely get a 2009 watch serviced unless it was serviced recently. That said, I haven't had any issues with my 315 and 324 movements which were used in 5711 until 2019. If you want a hacking movement you'd have to pick a late 5711 with the newish 330 movement though. |
