Why full pm gold daytona?
I love the look of the full bracelet gold bezel daytona. That being said I struggle with the idea of owning one with such an easy to scratch bezel. Is there something i’m missing, can the bezel be restored even with the numbers on there? Give me your feedback pm daytona owners. Dosen’t seem like something you can wear frequently even with good wrist awareness. Oysterflex excluded :)

Op, unless you’re buying to put in the safe it will mark up some, and even in that case the gold will patina and change color a bit because of the oxidation, hairline scratches are common on any PM piece. I’ve seen them on a new PM Daytona at the AD. This all depends on the use and care you give it and how much marks bother you.
So if scratches really bother you on the bracelet then PM is not for you. The OF might be a better option for you, then all you have to worry about is the case, bezel and clasp. Remember that , all the scratchers and marks can be lightly polished out. I’ve seen dinged and gashed Daytona’s made new again by a good watchmaker. I buy my watches to enjoy them and wear and if there is a hairline here and there no big deal. I’m careful with them and if I’m in doubt when doing something? I will take it off. I had a situation with one of PM Daytona’s the other day and my truck, before going under the truck I took it off. My neighbor gave me this look, like is he for real? Yes! I am, better safe than sorry. The full PM bracelet is great if you like some weight on the wrist or the OF is light and very comfortable they are both great choices. I enjoy them both! Cheers, |

Pm sub and gmt have ceramic bezels. Fluted on skydweller and DD40 hide scratches well in second place. Not the case with the very hard to refinish gold daytona bezels. Unless im wrong?

PM bezel will get some character over time. Doesn’t bother me. So nice to have on the wrist.

Honestly, OP, you're right. I bought a neo-vintage PM Daytona in April this year, have worn it daily ever since, and it's in tatters. The bezel particularly looks like it's been on the battlefield. I can't say it's disgusting, but ... it's unsightly. Every time I see the watch peeping-out from under a cuff, I automatically cover it up in case anyone sees it.
And it didn't take long to reach this state. Shortly after I bought it, I had to take a trip, and when the Monaco customs-guard saw it he said (I'll never forget it), "Usually we ask for papers confirming ownership, but in your case ... you have my sympathies, sir." Another experience I had while making a purchase was when I saw two sales reps across the room genuinely tittering at one another as they glanced over at me. I can't be sure, but I feel certain they were discussing my Daytona and its poor state. That's one Ferrari-dealership that has lost my custom. There's even this strange psychological effect I've noticed recently, whereby I'm in a group of people, chatting away, and without anyone explicitly referencing my bezel, conversation seems to grow increasingly clothed in the language of abrasion: remarks will be, "Cutting;" customer-relations will start generating, "Friction;" prices seem, "Gouging." Why, just the other morning, I was lying with my three girlfriends, and my thoughts were rudely pulled from our otherwise enjoyable champagne-and-stawberries breakfast as I noticed them discussing the difficulties of their current relationships and actually rating them on the vickers hardness scale. Steer clear, my friend. 20241103_120148r by Tom Kennedy, on Flickr |

Elegant, refined, pure class - and still a Daytona. That's the PM Daytona. Give it your personal touch with either a dial in a classic look, neo-vintage or modern. Enjoy the weight, the shine, the reflections - and yes, wear it!

I bought a 126508, it gets swirl marks, but you have to get over it. Enjoy it.

Of course, the watch can be a daily driver. The Oyster bracelet clasp will take the brunt of it. Gold watches scratch, some show them more than others, but they are all still wearable for regular lifetime service. I have heard the bezel is best left alone as it will lose numerical definition with any deep polishing.
