Bezel for a 6426 Oysterdate: how to tell?

Hi, I’m new to Rolex vintage and bought a nice 6426 from the early 70s,
the only thing that annoys me is that the original bezel has been replaced with a engine turned bezel. Doing some research on eBay I’ve found a lot of bezels for the 6426, but here is my problem: How can I tell if it’s a original Rolex bezel or china replacement? Are there any characteristics one could try to look after?

A very difficult part to find in the wild / secondary market indeed.

Even SwissIce on Ebay has never had one in stock. Also, they are often mislabeled as fitting the 6426. Even the aftermarket for sale by Ewatchsales is $75 (crazy price)..

Be very patient, recommending to buy from a reputable source.

When I see "bezel for XXX," I infer that it's an aftermarket part, but who cares, really. You would be very hard-pressed to know the difference, and at least it's cheap. Someone could easily sell you an aftermarket part for $200 claiming that it is authentic and you wouldn't know.

As promised the measures for the bezel, it seems to fit, is this small „dent“ the recess you were mentioning, or just a dent? IMG_2024-09-02-184341.jpeg IMG_2024-09-02-181125.jpeg
