Show me your stone dial Day-Dates

In my ponderings to own a gold watch on a bracelet, I'm starting to think that a vintage 36mm Day-Date might be the right choice. (Other choices are modern RO and VC Overseas...but for something as 'blingy' as all gold I think something smaller is better for me.)

So I'm thinking that an "interesting" dial is the way to go. Let me see what you enjoy wearing :)

(I really like black/baguette dials on YG Day-Dates...may look for something in onyx to start.)

I'm tempted by the current version of the onyx dial, but something vintage is quite a bit less money and that's an attractive feature :)

Edit: MAYBE NOT when it comes to YG 36mm onyx dials. At least on Chrono24 they are all "no bargain" compared to today's MSRP.

I agree the onyx/baguette dials are superb, I just personally like the no-markers stone dials best.

OTOH, to me the full-baguette and the no-markers dials both look better than the ones with the Arabic diamond markers at 6 and 9 only (like the white Cacholong dial above).

Yes those Arabic with a diamond inside at 6 and 9 just look weird to me.

The later stone dials which are marked SWISS or SWISS MADE for the 5 digits seem to use a slightly different font from the early T SWISS T stone dials.

The earlier ones had more of a serif font. The window frames are also noticeably different. Some claim these were service dials but Eric Ku says these were generational differences.

Many onyx dials are also aftermarket I believe despite what the dealer might say.

Given how expensive vintage factory stone dials have become, a very good aftermarket isn't such an issue in my opinion if you really want the look.

The vintage WG/PT stone dials are a 6 figure premium these days.
