(sad) Is there a Vegas strategy?

I'll be on the strip for ten days.

I have a bunch of Rolex that matter to me. I'll be wearing a rose gold white face Skydweller when out and about, a white gold sub on blue rubber B at the pool.

For the past 18 months, I've failed to purchase my "Retirement Rolex". Have many that are PM and "matter" to me for various life accomplishments.

Is there ANY plan that could lead to me buying my retirement Rolex? I have photos of everything I have, and I've never sold... only gifted two!!!

Not very picky on reference, but want to avoid duplicates.

10 days? I go to Vegas 2 times a year and can only last 4 days at most.

Las Vegas ADs are no different than anywhere else. They would love to sell you a watch….if they had what you want available. That said they get an incredible amount of foot traffic plus serving a wealthy local population.
On my last trip there in May I browsed through three Rolex ADs, only one had 3 watches in a case marked For Sale, two jewel encrusted DayDates and a similar woman’s model. The other two were friendly and had plenty of exhibition watches but said nothing for immediate delivery. I didn’t ask for anything so who knows? Maybe if you asked for one specific piece they might have one for you.
Your chances of scoring a PM piece are much better than a SS Professional.

Op, that depends on what you are looking for ? Ask? It can’t hurt.
Vegas is a hard town to get a watch, Nashville has some big ADs wouldn’t your local AD be better for you? Especially with your history.

Good Luck,

The only strategy I’d recommend is don’t lose all your money

Yep, three nights max then it cannibalises what is left of your soul.

If I spent 10 days at Vegas and started with just $1k, I’d have enough for a retirement Rolex at the end of the trip from that $1k alone.

It you cannot do the same you should not be spending 10 consecutive days in Vegas…

I’d be more concerned about keeping the 2 you take out there. Careful with the ladies and eyes on your drink.

Awesome!!! If you see Steven Bridges, first, do not 'out him' at the Blackjack table, yet please say hi to him for me.

Imho be polite, and let a few Rolex ADs know you'll be in town for a week or so and what you desire / why. We have heard on TRF members doing this and 'getting the call'. Rare, sure, yet it does happen. In a few years this probably will all sort itself out (other than typical SS Daytona, etc). :thumbs-up:

Happy hunting and may the odds be ever in your favor

If you survive 10 days on the strip, Rolex should give you a free one

Enjoy your trip

Exactly, if you survive Vegas without a woman of the night stealing one of your Rolex and then posting about it here....roll the dice.

Be careful of people that might be “viscerally disgusted” when they see you wearing a Rolex. It seems like there are a few of them lurking around.

2-3 days is a stretch for me.
I'd express your honest interest to the ADs and let them know how long you'll be in town. You never know.

What is there to be sad about?

Sounds like you have already got quite a few very expensive luxury watches

I would probably start with the existing dealers that have sold you the previous Rolex watches that you have. Good luck in Vegas though, you never know.

I think you need to narrow the focus on which one or two you want to buy for this occasion. There may be two tones and random PM and DJs available for walk in. The better steel models may be tougher

This. Have nothing but antipathy for that town. If I avoid it entirely, I don't even have to GTFO.

Ask for Ivan at Bellagio Rolex. He’s great, has offered me two pieces, once in July and once over Labor Day.

Trade all the ones you’re done with to a TS and have them source exactly what you want.

I got here yesterday at 3pm local time, ate a hamburger, lost $1k on roulette in 20 minutes, then went to the P!nk show. Would have been more fun had I not been sick, I am really feeling it now and all I drank yesterday was iced tea and water.

Find another place to buy your watches? Lots of people and money in Vegas make it hard to make a big first impression with the dealers there.

Go into each AD and tell them you want to buy for your retirement milestone. I think that is the best chance although small. Good luck.

On the watch front with the market softening I think you’ll have a great opportunity to buy a PM piece while you’re there; let us know what you get!

For your 10 day trip what else do you have planned? Anything fun? There’s lots of great things to do in Vegas outside of just gambling / casinos. If you need some recommendations lemme know wife and I go fairly often.

From what I'm hearing special occasions is falling on deaf ears and I'm personally experiencing it.

Been working with my new AD for almost 4 years (old one of 25+ years had their acct pulled). After my 5th rolex purchase (3 were PM and approaching 200k spend I approached mgt about a special retirement/60th bday piece. It's been 9 mths since the request and no response or mention of the request. Visited the store every month since the request.
