Incoming Platinum 321

So I finally pulled the trigger on the Platinum 321. A bit of story to this one as I was meant to be purchasing this watch in March of this year. We had an offer for our business so this was the obligatory celebrationary purchase. Then the deal fell through and I am left with a very expensive watch with my name on it at the Boutique!

I then get an invite to a social event by the Boutique in April and they said to me, don't worry, we will keep this watch for you as long as we need to! This year, next year, doesn't matter. I was a bit taken aback by this, couldn't see a Rolex AD doing this anytime soon. Their generosity paid off and I have worked hard to buy the watch, something I have done this week.

I have to say it is a amazing piece. Been wearing it for 2 days so I thought I would give my initial impressions:

The colour of the Platinum goes extremely well with the black onyx dial. Its a bit mesmerising to be honest. The metal is very bright so great contrast.
The fact that's its lunar rock for sub dials is cool, in fact beyond cool. Under a loupe the sub dials looks fantastic.
Heft of the watch is impressive but the lack of bracelet means it's manageable.
The 321 is the sweetest movement I have to wind.
I find myself staring at the movement despite having a steel one for more than 2 years!
If I had the choice to pay a bit more for a deployment I would have. I know its tradition that speedy's were on pin buckles but I am super careful taking it off, especially with the weight of the watch.

I will keep this watch forever and I am very lucky to have been able to get it. Pics to follow.

Big congratulations

I’d love to see one in real life. I own the SS 321 and agree, the movement is stellar to look at and easily the most enjoyable watch to wind that I own

Wear it in good health

Well done!!! Stellar watch, wear it well

I replaced my pin-buckle strap with a new custom strap and deployant from Combat Straps.

Highly recommended.

Did you get a matching metal deployant or a steel one? I can only imagine the price of a platinum deployant.

I was quoted $5000USD (Yup, five thou), for the Omega Platinum delpoyant.

I elected to go with a high quality generic "Omega" style equivalent. Should reasonably priced OEM SST or Titanium option come one way, I'll swap over.

Big congrats, I do the exact same as you, celebrating big business deals etc. Good on you for going omega as well, they certainly do look after people there.

Amazing watch.

Cannot find another modern Omega that can beat the prestige of this reference. Wear it in good health!

I was clicking through the Omega website for watch straps and found a strap that had the Canopus Gold 16mm deployant. The one costs more than the platinum at a whopping $8600!!! That's freaking insane.

Congrats on the watch, and on the business success! I have seen and tried the platinum 321 in person, and it is totally magnificent. On my wish list for sure.

That is crazy. Pricing for these seems all over the place. I looked yesterday for a strap and deployment for the moonwatch and Sedna prices were about £2,700 UK. On your link they are a fair bit more!

One last pic with the 321 taking pride of place alongside some other Omega references I have out at the moment.

There's an 18mm Platinum deployant currently listed on Ebay:

Sure is a beauty, if only I can afford, waiting for 321 for over 3 years now

Congratulations. That is an absolutely stunning watch. The boutique manager told me that a SS 321 could be possible by the end of the year. I’ve only been waiting for 2 months now.
