Carrier Galbee
Morning folks,
Does anyone on here own an Galbee? Any wrist pics? I've been looking at a couple ref W20018D6 but wanted to know the difference why some clasps have a stamped clasp and others just a normal bracelet as attached. Any help would be appreciated Screenshot_20241108_074310_Samsung Internet.jpgScreenshot_20241108_074146_eBay.jpg Sent from my SM-S918B using Tapatalk |

The clasp on the left with the sort of stamped clasp is for the older models, often referred to as the Carree, but I believe some earlier Galbees had this clasp. The Carrees also have a case back that protrudes out a bit.
They have a case back like this [IMG][/IMG] The Santos Galbee models, have a more curved flat case and profile and fit the wrist differently. The later models have a different flat case back. The earlier bracelets were I believe the same as on the Carree, but later Galbee models the bracelet was completely different and did not have scalloped back sides to the links. They had a "Butterfly clasp" which has an invisible closure and looks like one continuous bracelet rather than having a noticeable clasp. Personally, I prefer the later models, or the current models over the Carrees, but there is no right or wrong answer. It just depends one which one you prefer. I own a modern blue dial Santos which has a different bezel, movement, bracelet etc., however I've handled a few of the vintage models. |
