I'm having the same thought. I'm still debating if it depth the entire money on buying a new reference over an older reference.

It's a great advancement for sure. Rolex braclets sure have come along way from this, although the old style have a certain charm

Personally, I think it's better than sliced bread. If buying a Rolex was like buying a car and we could pick certain extras as cost options, I would quite cheerfully pay extra for a Glidelock on every piece.
If the GMT and Daytona had a Glidelock, there would be no need for any other watch.

How can Rolex produce such a fine clasp but limit it to very few pieces?

The GMT might have the fourth hand, but it doesn't have the Glidelock. That's what makes that decision so tough for me.

I have two Subs with glielock and recently re-aquired the 42mm Explorer2. I almost feel like selling the Expo because the gridlock has me completely spoiled. It is almost hard for me to enjoy the watch because I am constantly trying to re-adjust to get that right fit and I can't seem to do so.
I was thinking about buying the BLNR but I feel like I will be in the same boat again. |

It is a nice clasp without a doubt; would it to me justify my owning a watch I don't feel comfortable with or am not enthusiastic about? In a word, "No." I'm pretty happy with the simplicity and the way the old folded clasps work and have worked for a long time. It adjusts as well as I need it with relatively little effort. I guess I may be in the minority but the unchanging nature of the ceramic inserts, the weight, and COG of the enlarged watch all keep me from it. I really like my diminutive older Sub.

The new clasp was what made me revamp my collection. And how I wish they the same for GMTs.

I do love the glidelock, it has allowed me to get the perfect fit with my SD, but since zeroing in that perfect fit I have never adjusted it again. I have two Rolexes with the easy link clasp, and they fit perfectly as well. Maybe my wrist just doesn't fluctuate as much as other people's.

The glidelock is of course great, but I actually find the easy link on i.e. the GMT also very convenient and certainly not something inferior. It works as a charm

The Glidelock is a great upgrade....which is why I bought one for my SD 16600, Sub LV 16610, and BLNR (97200 bracelet w/ Glidelock)!!

Same here!!! Once I get my watch adjusted, it goes for years without ANY problem. Would a glide lock be nice on my GMT... Sure. But it is not an absolute need. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

those pin hole on the clasp reminds of Seiko bracelet... where the master use hammer to locate the inserts
the new clasp is stylish and should set the trend for all Rolex watches |

Can't get so excited over a clasp it would affect whether I bought a watch or not. I've found that if a bracelet is fitted correctly in the first place adjustment is rarely needed with no need for constant fiddling between the extremes of hot/cold/humid/dry. I can see how it could easily become kind of an obsessive habit though.

It's amazing that people would actually wear Rolex's before the glidelock, GASP!

glidelock for subC and sea-dweller or nothing

I'm the same way. The glidelock is great for getting the initial adjustment done EASIER than fiddling with half links, etc, but once I set it, I rarely if ever move it. And on the RARE occasion that I do need to adjust a Rolex bracelet out, the easy link allows for just enough slack to be given that it works perfectly. So I do like the glidelock, but don't understand the need for people (other than divers) to constantly be needing to resize their bracelet and some people's insistence that a perfect fit can't be found without it. And I'm a very active person, so I would think I'd suffer from the same skin/wrist expansions and blood vessel dilations that would necessitate all this constant adjustment. |

Glidelock is excellent but I had no issues with my gmts or my current nautilus for that matter. I fit everything a touch looser that a pinky under the clasp.

I love the Glide Lock as well. My wrist does expand throughout the day every now and then. It's definitely one of the major reasons I wear my sub more than any other piece I own.

Love the glidelock all summer long when my wrist expands and contracts daily. Now, in the fall and winter, it's a non issue.
