That's fantastic! My Submariner has been right around -1 second per day. +5 in 3 weeks is just great!

Your watch has been tested by the COSC to a spec of that the movement should perform to a AVERAGE of between -4 to + 6 seconds over any 24 hour period. But none of these phone apps whether Android or Iphone are 100% accurate, sure they will give a indication whether running fast of slow but 100% accurate I think not, and they are no way as accurate as a proper quartz timing machine.

The short answer is yes.

However my 2003 Submariner Date 16610 was timed and gained 3 secs over 28 days. I intend to read the riot act to my AD who serviced it.

We got to keep the standards up.

Regards

Mick

Actually, over a 3 week period, using something like Watchville will be more accurate than a timing machine. Even a 1 second user response time error works out to only 0.05 seconds per day, and most timing machines only report to the nearest 0.1 seconds per day.

Furthermore, a timing machine only reports the rate right now, not the average over a 24 hour period.

What makes timing machines so useful is that they do report a rate right away, so that the person adjusting the watch doesn't have to wait 24 hours to see if they got it right or not.
