The Most ADVERTISED Rolex watch!!

Okay, guys....

We've seen countless ads on Rolex watches...mainly in magazines like National Geographic, TIME, CNN Sports, many golf channels like the PGA, etc. as well as on Billboards all over the USA.

So which do you guys think is the one model that Rolex tends to advertise the most?

JJ

Whenever I look at the NatGeo magazine, (usually in a waiting room) there invariably seems to be a polar scene and the Rolex Explorer II WD.

The golfing magazines usually have a Rolesor DD and Time mag did a GMT Master II last time I looked.

Magazine in waiting rooms are mostly years old!

Last time I saw live advert for Rolex on TV was during Sydney Hobart Yatch Race last December.

Someone here reckoned Rolex were putting commercials on TV when the tennis was going, but I don't watch tennis.....well maybe the odd time when the girls are playing.

Actually, this is quite true. I travel weekly and when I pass a billboard most of the time it's beaming with a Blue TT Sub, I think that's another reason they're so popular. Natural beauty... Rolex philosophy / Hypnosis

There is a White Gold Daytona ad that stands out in my mind. I think it is a tennis player in a black sport jacket (Federer?). Just goes to show you that I can give a crap about the player but that gorgeous watch stands out!

Rolex has to release a TT Sub with JJ's face for the dial.

Well its all in what part of the world the magazines are targeted for Asia you will mostly see the DJ type watches. In the western world mostly the sports and high value diamond watches.

Recently over the last 6 months, have seen a lot of ADs for Exp IIs in White and Black dials. Also a few SDs. (Natn Geog, Nat Geog Adventure travel, Men's journal) Have seen 1 GMT (Pepsi) (Nat Geog Traveller), 1 TT Blue (Time), and several Lady's date Just with diamonds (architecture digest).

What I would really like to see is a Coffee Table book, with nothing but all the Rolex Ads in it. Be a great book!! I would pay $100 easy for that book. Rolex are you listening?

"Rolex has to release a TT Sub with JJ's face for the dial." Great idea, but first must get JJ some Oakleys!!

I'd say it is a close race between the DJ and the TT Blue Sub. Both well worth advertising, but neither really needing ANY advertising!

Around here, pretty much all the ad's I see are for the blue sub. Big posters of it in most of the AD's I go into, also. I'd love to get my hands on one of those posters!

No, but I am. I have hundreds of vintage, modern and unique Rolex ads, and I have been thinking about getting around to scanning them. Hmmm.......

You have a clear copy of the Red Adair Datejust Ad? Been trying to see one. All the ones I see on the internet, the writing is blurry. Also, got any GMT ads to post. Just got a Red/Black GMT and would love to see some GMT Ads showing Adventure/ Exploring.

Definitely Padi.
I travel a lot within the UK and I don't think Rolex have ever placed a billboard ad over here or a TV commercial, but I stand corrected if I am wrong.
They just seem to advertise in specialist magazines (well not too specialist aye)
Sports watches mainly in the relevant places and sometimes in broadsheet newspapers and their magazines.

It certainly is, I wish they'd do it over here, it'd help to brighten up the place through the long drawn out winters.

you know, i hardle ever see a billboard or airport ad with a sub 16610, yet every other guy sitting next to me on the plane is wearing it. I do wish rolex would stop putting up pictures of the platinum yachtie, i am about to stop paying rent to buy one.
