Fresh Day date 118209 WG with new blue face

I recently got a white gold day date and had Rolex service change the face to blue. I like the way it turned out. Ref 118209

Congrats! How much did they charge you for the dial swap? How do you like the oyster band on it (most people prefer / say DD’s should be on president band)

Dial swap was 470. I like the oyster band because it does not pinch the hairs on my wrist, also I wanted something under the radar. Looks like a datejust from a distance.

Thanks for sharing. I happen to have that same dial in my 18239. What dial yours used to have? Did RSC enforced a service of it as well? Wonder how mich they are currently charging to service a DD

I got the full service and dial, plus a language change from Portuguese to English. $1,500. Looks like new. I recently bought it used with box and papers. Wanted to take it to RSC to make sure all was legit and get it tuned up as well as the changes.

Not sure if it's what you were after but blue dial and oyster makes it look just like a SS DJ, why not get a DJ then? If DD why not get a dial that differentiates it from DJ rather than blue and the president bracelet. The WG will tone it down regardless, unless you want to keep under the radar to even watch guys.

Congrats though anyway

Dial looks great but a DD always belongs on a presidential bracelet.

I agree that I think the oyster is an improvement in terms of functionality and durability. I've never had a problem with oyster comfort either. I'm not certain that I'd go blue but love the concept of getting the dial swapped for what you want. Well done!!! For me the case makes it look like it's a platinum with out having the fluted bezel!! Great watch and job!!!

That is a really great looking watch! I own the exact Datejust-"lookalike" and I love everything about it. It's just the perfect watch for me. And if it was your intention-this is definitely the best way to hide a 20k price difference

The president bracelet just does not feel comfortable on my wrist for some reason and I've tried many of them on. Also you can't buy a DD with an oyster anymore regardless...

I think that solid gold oyster band is cool because it’s understated, only you know what it is and it feels so solid.
