Concerns about 1969 Airking (older watch ingeneral)

I have gotten the Rolex bug! On the hunt for a couple Rolexesses (Rolexum, Rolexi?) including 1 or 2 vintage. With no experience yet I need your advice.

Under consideration is a pristine 1969 Airking. Assuming a purchase from a Trusted Seller here, and it ran well what would you do to maintain the watch?

- Send it in to service to clean, re-oil and check it out?
- Wear it immediately?
- What are likely service issues to require repair?
- What breaks or goes wrong most often?
- Like anything mechanical (cars - boats - etc) I know you must do preventative maintenance and spend more time/$/care, but what can I expect - assume worst case scenario?

Thanks and thank for all the other wonderful advice everybody!
